“Oh my Bridgerton!”
Bringing together a weird and wonderful mix of a period setting, shapeshifting aliens and a hologram sequence that has created quite a stir amongst fans, we are thrilled to see “Rogue”, the latest episode of #DoctorWho and our second instalment of VFX this season hit screens on BBC and Disney+
As huge fans of Doctor Who, we’re so proud to become part of the #Whoniverse, creating VFX for 2 episodes of the latest season of #DoctorWho and what a ride it’s been!
Delivering almost 300 shots that saw us create dystopian cityscapes, time travel (of course!) to Bridgerton-era splendour and manifest musical mayhem around one of the most iconic bands of all time!
We’ve loved every minute of being part of bringing Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor to life and we hope you enjoy our work on The Devil’s Chord and Rogue
Our gratitude to showrunner Russell T Davies, Executive Producers Joel Collins and Phil Collinson, all at Bad Wolf and VFX Producer Will Cohen who had this to say “Collaborating with Windmill Lane on the New Series of Doctor Who has been an absolute delight! The creative solutions they have offered along the way and their smooth execution has made our job very easy and that they have been a lot of fun to spend time with has been an added bonus!”
Our team in Windmill Lane, overseen by John Kennedy and Deborah Doherty was creatively led by VFX Supervisor Fred Burdy, Comp Supervisor Stephen Pepper and VFX Producer Louise Ni Chonchuir.
On working with the team at Bad Wolf, John Kennedy, Head of VFX with Windmill Lane “The process was engaging, communicative, ideas led, creative and decisive with a distinctly positive and upbeat energy.”
Fred Burdy, VFX supervisor added “It’s been an honour and unbelievable fun to work on Doctor Who, an old dream of mine. We were lucky to have two very varied and very creative episodes to work on. It was a blast, and I believe it shows on screen!”

A massive congratulations to all this years IFTA winners, especially Kin S2 for thier 5 wins!
We were delighted to provide full service post and vfx across the series and get to know some incredibly talented people along the way!
It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news that Gina, after nearly a decade of devoted service, has decided to bid farewell to Windmill Lane to dedicate more time to her wonderful family.
During her time with Windmill, Gina has seamlessly transitioned through two key roles.
Starting as the Head of Hospitality, she showcased her dedication and skills. In her most recent post-COVID role as our Office Manager, Gina has continued to excel, ensuring the smooth running of the office and building.
Gina’s commitment, hard work, and positive attitude have significantly contributed to Windmill’s success over the years. This impact has not only been felt internally but has also been recognised by our clients. A special acknowledgment comes from our Advertising clients, as Gina was presented with ICAD’s President’s Awards last year - an honor that reflects her exceptional contributions and professionalism.
Gina, you’ll be sorely missed, and we sincerely wish you the very best in this new chapter of your life.
We are thrilled to share that our Head of Production @deborah_byrnes will be speaking on behalf of Windmill Lane at the @sxsw Panel - Ireland Unveiled: Shaping the World Through Storytelling!
She will be speaking alongside the wonderful Steven Davenport from @screenireland , Katie Holly from @keeper_pictures and Emma Foley from @palerebelproductions .
A big thank you to @enterprise_ireland for organising and hosting this exciting event on March 12th!
We hope to see you there!
