🫎 💃 Hail the Laser Moose!!! I was looking up at this moose in my office the other day & remembered an important lesson learned. When a client changes their mind, take a breath, listen, lean in. Drop your ego & listen for the opportunity. Justin "JB" Bolognino came to us with an Absolut activation looking for us to recreate a balloon chandelier we had done for a fashion show for LDJ Productions & Matrix. They wanted to wow their audience at a VIP house party in LA for influencers with an interactive magical dance floor. Awesome. But then the client changed their mind and didn't want the individually addressable balloon chandelier! It was frustrating because we spent a good amount of time with them on the project and we were excited to level up the chandelier. BUT on a cancelation call they said, we still would love something but on the floor. This left the opening and I said, well, why don't we make the dance floor come alive? We could connect an LED floor to the entire room triggering all kinds of surprises throughout the night... The Laser Moose was born... Mondrian Moose is an interactive LED dance floor that triggers lasers out of a moose's eyes. Inspired by Piet Mondrian and created for Absolut Electrik 'House Party' in Los Angeles, CA. The floor was installed in a living room and was revealed in stages, sparking the energy of the party. First, low smoke unexpectedly drops from a fireplace and rolls across the living room floor. The smoke builds till it is knee deep over the Mondrian carpet. People gather into the living room as the low smoke spreads throughout the party. Next, sparkles of light appear below the fog--the Mondrian carpet comes to life. Sparkles of light increase to become lines which track and chase the people above. The carpet is now a dance floor of playful light. The DJ increases the beat, the dance floor fills and the LED lines increase in intensity. The music drops, pulses of light leave the carpet, climb the wall, and travel across the room. Suddenly, a sneaky ceramic fox on the bookshelf behind the DJ begins to emit smoke. Pulses increase in speed from the center of the carpet and track towards a large moose.

Remembering The Wedge, 15 years ago we created our first large scale installation which still lives on in Burning Man lore as “The most interactive” “the most dangerous” “the most fun” installation in BM history. Still such a lesson in intentional vs actualization. A bunch of performer acrobats from Fuerzabruta got together. Our intention was to bring the gift of flight to @burningman by teaching people aerial harness flying. To do this we needed to build a big structure to fly from. Then we thought that’s kinda lame to be this big structure just sitting there when we’re not using it… how about we make it a slide?! The rest was legend. Share your wedge story with us!? Experiments by artists are transforming the way we shop, play, or watch... they are revitalizing malls, city plans, or entire video game cities. The false duality of Digital & Physical will soon end, dissolving into a mixed media, a unified hyper real experience. We must continue to pioneer this direction, to steer it's focus towards a humane future. To engage an audience you will need a unified strategy that delivers a cohesive blended media experience. We are primed to create this future.

#TB10Years | 2019 - Moral Injuries Of War | Closing the year and our series of projects we created over the past 10 years, this special collaboration with Jack Saul resulted in an installation that gives voice to veterans and war correspondents who often carry moral distress alone. From Jack's words "We, as a public, must contend with our collective responsibility for these recent wars. We must share the moral burdens of shame, guilt, and outrage that are usually carried by the individual alone. Out of this sharing, we may find connection, hope, and the possibility of building a cornerstone for collective healing and moral repair." On this note, happy NYE everyone! #TB10Years | 2019 - Spirits of Light | Inside a 12th century cathedral in Avalon, France participants of Kinnernet Europe were invited to perform a spiritual ritual exploring human interconnection. What unites us? Why do we seek meaning in each other, in gathering? This work featured projections and a performance by Vincent Moon with music by Hadas Kleinman, Mira Awad, Jurgis Didžiulis, Hadas Kleinman, and Leah Siegel, who wrote this poem which was written word by word across everyone's robes -- uniting everyone... . Somedays, my faith seems a flightless bird, modest wings clapped dutifully against my body, eyes immense and fixed upwards wishing for a wind I might catch wondering why in hell these flappers were given me or if they were taken. Grounded. No, cemented. Though without an anchor. How have I become demoted? Why not rip these useless pinions clean from my back. Spinning mercilessly. Trapped in the infinite void of my own making. Surrounded by this ancient, everlasting emptiness benumbing the tips of patchy plumage. Beyond this great inky barrenness I sense just enough to glean the destruction. As the desolation expands into plainly breathtaking width staring into the mouth of overwhelm, just when I am on the verge of disappearance, there is the practice. The performance. The role to play. I comply with all notions of formality. For now, it's a bluff, a pretend game. Ignoring the hollow feeling and with tremendous effort, all feathers ruffled with incredulity, mistrust, repudiation... I persist. I endure, I persevere. And this surely inane ritual eventually fills the vacuum of despair. Somehow. Some small freedom burgeons. Ineffable perhaps at the outset but merely a glimpse confirms, Yes, the blackness has abated. Ease appears. I edge myself further into the routine. Soon after, a serenity.
