Happy birthday to my amazing wife. I'm a day late in posting because we were celebrating and hosting all yesterday and had an amazing dinner tonight at Gwen. I thought I'd use Kristy's birthday as a great excuse to post some of the photos we had taken before our wedding as an "engagement" shoot. She is my favorite goofball and best friend! Thank you @wondertribe for the amazing photos
Best Day Ever!
I get to spend forever with my best friend! And my heart is so full of love and joy from spending this past weekend with so many of our favorite people all in one place.
There were so many amazing moments! Thank you to everyone for making it the most perfect celebration!
So many more photos to come.
5/11/24 will be a day I'll never forget. There will be lots more photos to come but for the time being here is a silly selfie that captures how goofy happy we both we both are. Officially husband and wife!!!
While cinematography is my main goal and passion, camera operating is a huge part of my career and what I enjoy doing in film. Not only do I often operate on projects I am also the cinematographer on, I love operating for other DP’s projects as well. Coming on as Steadicam or a cam-op is such a great learning tool. It allows you to see how other Cinematographers work, light, and run their sets.
I have operated for over a decade now on all sorts of projects with a huge variety of tools. From my eight years as a Steadicam operator, my time flying drones when it was brand new technology, and regular operating in all sorts of scenarios. I have been behind cameras on planes, trains, and sailboats, from cushy dolly jobs on a stage to 135 degrees on a salt flat to snow on a mountain. That is why it means so much to be recognized this month by the Society of Camera Operators as a member.
My goal as a member is to participate in the organization both to expand my personal network in hopes of operating on larger and higher caliber projects but also to help make new and better safety protocols for operators on set to keep everyone safe and healthy. All the while expanding my skills and knowledge as an operator and as a cinematographer so that one day, I can turn SOC into ASC!
I love this photo @cldorson took of me on a fun day shooting and developing film on my 4x5 camera. I use it for all my professional headshots now. Speaking of professional, please go follow my new page, @willandaway for all things film, behind the scenes, and work related.
I always make such a goofy face when I operate (I was also the DP/co-director). This actually isn't too bad, at least my mouth is closed. Heavy rig on my tall pin with my custom ring light. Excited for this one to come out! #tiffencompany #smallhd #teradek #sonyvenice #ultraprime camera and lenses supplied by @shadowcastpictures
No April fools, I asked my favorite human in the world and my best friend to be my wife. Thank you @babcockwinery for providing the perfect background.
