I am delighted to be helping to support a groundbreaking new movement, Digitalism. Read all about it here: Digital art continues to be about storytelling, particularly how we see ourselves and each other in the digital age. What is Digitalism? Digitalism is how art, culture, and technology are intertwined in the digital era. It reflects how artists are processing their reality through tools which are native to their experience in the digital age, using AR, AI, VR, generative algorithms, synthetic photography, digital performance, blockchain provenance, and hybrid installations. Digitalism responds to the social shifts which have been brought about by the internet and the ever increasing presence of technology in our lives. Digitalism embraces the questions we must now ask of our times: How do we define reality? What is authorship in an age of algorithms? And what role does the artist play in shaping our future digital mythologies? With the 2025 feature section DBA: Digitalism, we continue to promote this new movement in art. DBA stands for Digital British Art – a nod to the YBAs (Young British Artists) of the 1990s and indicating the arrival of the next artistic movement. Why it matters – and why now In our current world, digital tools are integral to how we live, connect and create. Artists born into a digitally saturated environment are producing work that is native to these spaces. Digitalism embraces connection, collaboration and co-creation. Art has always responded to societal and technological change, and Digitalism is no exception. It's not just about art. It’s about how we learn, communicate, protest and play – a new lens through which to view the world. To quote Ascott once more: “The artist’s role is not to show us what we already know, but to help us see the world anew.” article by Rebekah Tolley, curator of DBA: Digitalism British Art Fair Saatchi Gallery, London 25 – 28 September 2025

I have just been diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It is not a “Disorder”...but instead more of a “Difference”. It can be a superpower. I’ve got a mix of ADHD traits like being super curious and full of energy and ideas, while I also lose focus as my busy brain buzzes onto something else – apologies if my mind has wandered when you were speaking to me 😊. The doctor assessing me felt that I have seven out of the 18 possible markers of ADHD, so gave me a diagnosis, in the ‘inattentive’ subtype. The minimum number of markers for a diagnosis is five. I am delighted to have a diagnosis, as it answers some questions. I feel fortunate, having found a career that suited me. It is thought that perhaps 5-10% percent of the world's population may have ADHD, while 29% of entrepreneurs said that they had ADHD (According to a study at UC Berkeley). It is thought that perhaps 15%-25% (or more) of the world may be neurodivergent (e.g. autistic, dyslexic, dyspraxic, an ADHDer). No one in the world has a ‘normal’ brain; our differences make the world more interesting. It is gratifying that I join successful and well known people with ADHD: actors Johnny Depp and Ryan Gosling, chef Jamie Oliver, comedian Rory Bremner, swimmer Michael Phelps, singers Will.i.am, Lily Allen, Nelly Furtado and Sam Fender. It is thought that Albert Einstein and Winston Churchill might have been ADHD. The image shows a range of neurodiversity. #adhd @adhd_chatter_podcast @adhdoers

A year of celebrations is over. I can't believe it has been 25 years... where has all my hair gone... at least it matches the balloons. I am looking forward to 17 editions of Affordable Art Fair in 2025, as we inspire more people to own art, working towards our 2030 vision of having 1million artworks bought since we started (600,000 so far), so helping many more artists. Affordable Art Fair in its first 25 years has welcomed 3.3million visitors who have bought over 600,000 artworks. Hurray for artists and the galleries which support so many of them. Delighted too that we have been able to give £7million to charitable causes so far, be they charities helping people through Art Therapy, or young artists or via art education. @affordableartfairexhibitors @affordableartfairuk @affordableartfairvienna @affordableartfairbrussels @affordableartfairhk @affordableartfairde @affordableartfairau @affordableartfairaustin @affordableartfairnyc @affordableartfairnl @affordableartfairsthlm @affordableartfairsg

🏆🏆🏆 FINE ART JOINT WINNER - Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2024  Congratulations to Felix Bode @felixbode graduate in Fine Art BA Hons from Glasgow School of Art @glasgowschoolart - joint winner of the Fine Art category in the @artsthread  Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2024   Direct 🔗 here  or from image 🔗 in bio! — “Felix has spotted beauty and peace behind the frenetic pace in which we live our lives nowadays. He notices and highlights things which us mere mortals hadn’t noticed, while also depicting contemporary life.” Will Ramsay Ramsay Fairs @willramsayfairs @affordableartfairuk @britishartfair 🌟Moving Windows 🌟 “These paintings and prints were made for my Degree show at the Glasgow School of Art. I was exploring how we see the world from high-speed vehicles, how we’re insulated and protected from the outside by machines. The paintings verge between the recognisable and the abstract. After travelling a lot in the past year, l found myself in a plane or train or car every few weeks, constantly moving through spaces I never stop at. Simultaneously these anonymous places become so meaningful to me because they are the spaces in which I am reflecting. I wanted to bring this experience to my audience through reliving these moments in thick, viscous paint, and wiping it away to reveal a passing, volatile moment.” Follow @artsthread and @globalcreativegraduateshowcase to see all the winners!

Today was the first time I have had the honour to march past the Cenotaph with the grey berets of veterans of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards @scotscav (I served with them for 8 yrs) on the Remembrance Day service, organised immaculately by @royalbritishlegion . The @bbc did a great job broadcasting it, including some very humbling interviews before and after the service: /iplayer/episode/m0024z18/remembrance-sunday-the-cenotaph-2024 . I particularly remembered by father, who commanded the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and my grandfather, killed in WW2 and commemorated by /admiralramsaymuseum

The art you buy will support an artist and their supportive gallery. We all need art: art to take us to a different place, art to amuse us and art which moves us. But above that, artists need to make art. It’s what they do best. They see things which we probably missed in the frenetic pace of life we now live. They help us to take stock, slowing us down and they give us memories which we live with on our walls at home. So, I urge you to ask questions about the art which catches your eye; the more you understand about it, the more you will appreciate. Seek out a piece which you can afford. Finally, please don’t ever say “my walls are filled”; instead, keep being a philanthropist to artists; keep collecting art.
