Moderated by @sweetoblivion26 , with Mark Mullery, @MarkLittle , @abebabirhane and Caroline Cadwalladr, the discussion was wide ranging, taking in friction as a productive force for creativity, the history of painting, AI slop and model collapse, hope for the youth and much more, with shout outs to Theodor Adorno, Richard C. Lewontin and Rebecca Solnit, whose aphorism on hope is my takeaway - "Hope is not a lottery ticket you can sit on the sofa and clutch, feeling lucky. It is an axe you break down doors with in an emergency." @creativeskillnet
@sprintsmusic were just brilliant tonight. Saw them first supporting @gillaband in Whelan's in 2022 and how far they've come since then, headlining @vicar_st . It's a fortnight of great Irish music, @mbvofficial on Saturday and then my queen @cmatbaby on 5 December with the fam.
@frankotheatre are at @dublintheatrefestival_ with their powerful production of Caligula, which was received with a standing ovation tonight. 👏🇺🇦 Слава Україні!
@cianmalin returned a loaned @forcedents 20th anniversary book today. I opened it and landed on this page. So apposite for the time of year that is @dublintheatrefestival_ moving the artform forward.
