2 and a bit years in the making & a cupla panic attacks outside corner stores! The most epic creative collective made this possible. Begun sending the fim to festivals - wish us some love.
After the circuit: This film to be performed as a cinematic-theatrical experience with KITA, and a chorus of performers echoing action onscreen.

LOVE LIVES HERE // 愛住在這裡 follows a woman revisiting poignant love stories in her life through a surrealist, other-worldly lens. This art-house film was inspired by the music of KITA - the narrative a semi-autobiographical reimagining for first time director Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant, and a deeply personal internal reflection post World lockdown. The pace of the film was Tu-Bryant's quiet protest against the continued noise and increasing tempo of the world, advocating for more moments of stillness and simplicity. A blurred-at-the-edges of "what is memory?" and "what is reality?", a darker "Ghost of Christmas Past" inspired love story for rediscovering ones’ self. This trilingual film is an anthology of time capsules, crossing multiple genres, and is an auditory immersive experience. Inspired by a multitude of works spanning from W.W. Young's 1915 rendition of Alice in Wonderland, The Twilight Zone (1959), Singing in the Rain (1952) to modern day romances such as Wong Kar-Wai's In the Mood for Love, Stranger than Fiction (2006), and Before Sunrise.
LOVE LIVES HERE // 愛住在這裡 brought together a large creative collective in New Zealand, bridging Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa's film capital Wellington, spotlighting some of Aotearoa's most talented up and coming Asian multidisciplinaries.
This film was made with the partial support of Foundation North, in New Zealand. This film is a mid-length feature running just under 57 minutes, ideal for additional Q & A with director, and/or pre-show live music that inspired the film. Alternatively, a good length for other short films to run alongside.
