ONE FAVORITE THING WITH NEIL BERRETT—
My buddy Neil of @standardandstrange fame made quite a statement when he arrived in a cool new leather jacket at our recent denim hang in Hudson, New York. A few days later he caused a similar stir when he showed up backstage at Carnegie Hall wearing it. This guy has range!
Neil has probably had the biggest influence on my style—he’s also become one of my best friends—and I hope I can tempt him to make at least a monthly recommendation for my feed. For now, I will put words in his mouth and call his new leather jacket One Favorite Thing in his wardrobe.

“I love leather. It's such a tactile material to wear—it tickles your limbic lizard brain in a way that nothing else can.
“I love my N-1 deck jacket from McCoy's—it's a wonderful winter coat that's great on all but the coldest days, when you need a jacket to cover your butt for more warmth. But this @y2leather_official horsehide N-1 deck jacket stunned me! The horsehide has the right amount of shine. It's thick yet supple—just the right temper. I'm the shiny many in the shiny black leather jacket!
“It's got soft, warm alpaca wool lining through the body and the sleeves. My favorite detail is the two-way zipper—when sitting down, you can unzip the bottom part of the jacket a little bit so the collar doesn't stab you in the chin.”
So that’s what a two-way zipper is for. Who knew!

We had so much fun going through the pictures from the other night. In case you missed it, we had a party to celebrate the international book launch of The Rebel’s Wardrobe, the latest release from our Berlin brethren Gestalten. Along with that, we put together a little exhibition of vintage garments inspired by the pieces in the book. It was so good to see some old friends. Make some new ones and have a few beers with all.
