Introducing The Heroes This season marks 100 years since Private Jack White, war hero, Victoria Cross recipient, and master craftsman, completed his apprenticeship in our Manchester factory. To honour that legacy, we present The Heroes: five iconic coats, built with military precision, purpose, and pride. Each one a reflection of Jack’s enduring standards and a testament to 100 years of discipline, duty and determination. #PrivateWhiteVC #TheHeroes #BritishCraftsmanship #100YearsOfPurpose #MadeInManchester #MilitaryPrecision

An original pick stitch machine, dating back well over a century, and still running in our Manchester factory today. Built in an era when tailoring was measured not by speed but by precision, longevity and pride in the finish. The subtle stitch it creates remains one of the great signatures of proper coat making - a detail once associated with military tailoring, Savile Row craftsmanship and the golden age of British manufacturing.

The Peacoat is a legend of outerwear, and our best-selling winter piece for good reason. Born in the Dutch Navy in the 18th century and later adopted by British and U.S. naval forces, it was built to withstand the harshest conditions at sea. Short in length for movement on deck, double-breasted for protection, and cut with a high collar to shield against wind and rain. More than two centuries later, the principles remain unchanged. Ours is handmade in Manchester using a 30oz British wool Melton woven just 20 minutes from our factory in a Huddersfield mill that has been weaving cloth since 1782. Dense, insulating and naturally weather resistant, built for when winter truly bites. Born at sea. Perfected in Manchester. #PrivateWhiteVC #Peacoat #MadeInEngland #BritishOuterwear #ManchesterMade BritishCraftsmanship

Winston Churchill asked for a fabric that could save lives. Manchester delivered. Eighty years later, we’re still working with it. We take the same cloth and push it further - fully taping the seams in our signature copper to make it completely waterproof. Ventile, born in wartime. Perfected in peacetime. Still made in the city where it began.

The Diplomat Blazer, cut from a lightweight wool-linen blend and left fully unlined, it moves with the body rather than against it. The brief was drawn from the dress codes of diplomats, attachés and officials for whom composure was non-negotiable, regardless of climate. The Diplomat Trouser offers the same considered restraint. Elasticated waist, relaxed cut, discreet zip-secure pocket and military-grade hardware. Discreet, functional and considered

The Victoria Cross ribbon is one of the most recognised pieces of cloth in British military history. Crimson. Understated. Earned at the highest possible cost. The Valour Shirt carries that colour quietly. Woven into the stripe here in the UK, it is a mark of respect for courage shown and sacrifice made. A reminder of what this company was built on and who it was built for. Cut from an exclusive 100% cotton double jersey in Manchester, it is a limited edition piece. The natural cotton twill collar, tonal PWVC embroidery and real-horn British-made combat buttons. Every detail considered. None of them decorative. Made in Britain, to the highest standard we know.

Before the zip, before bonded seams, there was the buttonhole. A small detail, perhaps, but one that tells you almost everything about a garment. These machines, some based on designs developed over a century ago, still cut, stitch and keyhole with a level of precision that modern mass production rarely has the patience for. Military overcoats, naval peacoats, hunting jackets and dress coats… each era demanded its own specification - density, reinforcement, purpose. At Private White V.C., the art never left the factory floor. Every buttonhole is still judged by eye - tension, stitch, edge, cut. A tiny piece of engineering, repeated thousands of times across a lifetime of coat making in Manchester. History in every stitch.
