ON CALL This post marks the launch of the crowdfunding campaign for my latest project. I’m so excited to bring this film to life with the incredibly talented team already attached. I’ve been working on this project for a couple of years now. It’s based on a very personal story, and I truly believe it has the potential to make a meaningful impact, not only as a great short film, but by shining a light on a topic that many people don’t know about, and the support available for those who have been or are affected by it. On Call Teaser: Strangers Here This year, I’ll be making On Call with an incredibly talented crew by my side. This film is something I’m deeply passionate about and have wanted to make for a long time, but until now I never felt ready to bring it to life. This teaser highlights the fear and uncertainty that Danni, our lead, experiences becoming a mother. Reflected in the frantic pace and overwhelming nature of London life. London can be a daunting place for people born and raised in small countryside towns, far from the loud buzz of the city. Back in the late 90s, this was something my parents had to face. Navigating London while struggling with the uncertainty of my brother’s condition as he underwent life-saving surgery. I’m determined to make this the best short film I possibly can, with the hope that it brings awareness to families facing situations similar to my parents. To do that, we need to raise enough to reach our target budget. If you’re able to donate anything, even just £1, it would go a long way toward helping us bring this film to life. MEET THE TEAM: Will Mayhew Writer/ Director @willdmayhew_ Will Mayhew is an experienced filmmaker with a strong background in the Assistant Director department, having contributed to major productions including House of the Dragon, Slow Horses, and The Diplomat, alongside numerous commercial and music video projects. He has also served as 1st AD on a range of short-form films, including the BAFTA and HollyShorts London award-winning short Rock, Paper, Scissors. After years of supporting directors in realizing their creative vision, he is now focused on bringing his own experience and perspective to this project.
