First, the play mavens at
@qweshunga will take over the afternoon with loads of ways to amuse our minds and bodies.
From 6pm, we shall enjoy the acoustic musical stylings of heavy hitters
@kabera.angel (whom I only just found out about) and
@afriecangal (a long time favourite) interspersed with poets new and long known to me, as well.
@gloria.kiconco whom I have stanned since the days of #PoetryInSession (thanks,
@roshankarmali for that one),
@sizeyange whom I found here on good ole insta and whose perspective I love and
@the.name.is_kara who is currently in residency at
@32degreeseast and whose poetry brought me to tears the first time I heard it.
After getting all up in our feelings, we dance.
@catu_diosis and her bestie
@candidlyreign who make up
@blacksistarz and me and my bestie
@kkaybie will take you up to 2am with booty-and-other-body-parts-shaking vibes.
The night will end with a soundscape I'm making for us to share in a meditative, decompressing, processing moment with a special surprise performance.
I feel like I have assembled the power rangers, no make that the planeteers! (Really leaning into this ancestor thing. Avengers who?)
So, take a break from capitalism breaking you to come and enjoy with us some free fun times.
