I’ve been having a lot of lovely chats with couples about both weddings coming up this year, and for 2027, and one of the things I always try and prioritise for them is plenty of time to enjoy and be full present in their drinks reception. I always find this part of the day is such a nice time for them to chat to all of their guests, and to of course have a drink. As important as photos are to the day, I always want to prioritise you enjoying your wedding day, and so I’ll work with you to make sure you get a good chunk of time for this part of the day amongst your family photos and couple photos. Nestled in the Perthshire countryside, this marquee wedding was designed to feel soft, natural and effortless. The brief centred around whites and greens, lifted with gentle butter yellow tones. We kept the styling light with single stem florals in glass vases, layered with candlelight and fresh foliage to create a relaxed, understated look. Subtle bohemian touches came through in the use of wicker textures and a suspended installation above the tables, adding warmth and interest without overpowering the space. Everything was designed to sit beautifully within the surroundings. Simple, considered and quietly elegant. Last year, we donated a private dining experience for 10 to the Mark Williams Foundation charity auction. The winners recently claimed their prize, and we were delighted to host them for lunch. Canapés: Duck leg bon bons with cherry gel & cheese & onion gougères Starter: Ham hock croquette with pea & asparagus salad, salad cream, and Granny Smith apple Main: Chicken ballotine with chicken & mushroom mousse, herb gnocchi and wild garlic Dessert: Raspberry crèmeux dome with white chocolate mascarpone, raspberry jelly & lemon ice cream Wines paired by @deburghwine . A wonderful afternoon supporting a truly fantastic cause.

Barnbougle Castle, where a modern fairytale met the wild Scottish shore. Nicole & Ryan’s day was all drama and romance - a coastal location, ever-changing skies and a vibrant clash of rich reds and delicate pinks that lit the ancient stone. Guests arrived beneath a whimsical floral column with vows exchanged in the library framed by hundreds of books and a cascading mantle of blooms. The barrel‑vaulted Banqueting Hall later filled with overflowing floral bowls, single‑stem vases and warm brass and tonal taper candles — intimate, theatrical and utterly celebratory. Meet our Events Operations Manager, Isla Mcilwrick – aka Isla Smila, The Social Media Maestro   Since joining Wilde Thyme in 2019, Isla has worked her way up from waiting staff to Event Manager, and now Operations Manager – a true example of dedication and drive.   Her incredible work ethic, sharp eye for detail, and knack for keeping everything perfectly organised make her calm under pressure and always two steps ahead.   Just don’t ask her to keep track of her phone or keys… she’s notorious for losing them. if it’s not tied down, it’s probably gone!
