Wild boar is arguably Australia’s most destructive invasive species.
Causing millions of dollars of damage to agricultural land, not to mention the intangible cost that comes with native habitat devastation resulting from these animals is significant and irreversible.
Introduced with the First Fleet wild boar has been wreaking havoc on our fragile ecosystems ever since.
To reduce the population, around 70% need to be culled each year - any less than that and the numbers remain steady or even increase.
That’s a lot of protein ripe for the taking!
Harvested from the wild, inspected and processed, the boar come to us in Beechworth where we work our magic to turn this devastating problem into an ethical eat.

Found on their menu between the mushroom & scamorza croquettes and the chicken wings, they serve them fried, with beetroot relish.

Thinking about where our food comes from is something that we’re all obsessed with in the WildPie kitchen. It’s how WildPie came to exist. So it’s no coincidence that we’re really proud to be able to trace each pie back to its source in the wild.
Harvested around our local area, the venison is wild shot and processed within hours before making its way to our Beechworth facility to be broken down, prepared and walked mere metres to our kitchen to be made into pies. You can’t beat that level of traceability. It’s paddock to plate taken to the next level - it’s wild to pie.
