Well hi! Itās me, Whitley on your feed (alongside my family š¤)
Popping on with some updated photos after realizing I managed to post close to nothing on my feed for the entire busy season of 2023 š
Itās a FULL life these days. Balancing a near full time workload in a part time schedule to have the opportunity to spend some of my week fully home with Jack. While I may have had to skip out on the consistent social media posting this year, I am so proud of all the unseen that was accomplished.
20 beautiful Minnesota weddings photographed, 140+ portrait sessions, countless hours editing, 30 weeks growing our baby girl, and many many days at home chasing our wild, crazy, hilarious toddler.
I canāt thank all of my amazing clients enough for entrusting me with their own lives and stories for me to capture and in turn, for the joy and privilege of getting to do what I love both in and outside of our home. š¤
Iād be willing to bet this is the last thing to hit the feed before I announce a baby (anyone wanna guess her name?!) .. but hopefully I can recap a few of those shoots and weddings before then. š
So until whatever is next, I just wanted to extend a WARM thank you to all who have supported my business year after year and as the seasons change. š¤ I am truly forever grateful to live out what 18 year old me once dreamt of ā itās better, more beautiful (and harder haha) than I ever could have imagined!

Here we go⦠weāre having another BABY!!! š„¹š¶š¼š¤
Big brother Jack will be reporting for duty this February and we canāt wait to become a family of four!! š„°
VERY excited that I am not due as close to wedding season this time around.. 38 weeks pregnant was a whole vibe (who remembers šš®āšØ) but we got the job done! š Thankful to be comfortably pregnant as I finish out the wedding season andddd to hibernate all winter with another little babe to snuggle (while learning how to chase a toddler too š)
Letās do this, @chasebsander !! š¤

Truthfully? I get INCREDIBLY overwhelmed by sharing wedding content these days. š®āšØ
Iāve shot so many incredible days already this year and have shared precisely zero. Not because every one of them wasnāt inspiring and magical ā they were. Iāve been shooting more pictures per wedding day than I ever have before. Beautiful moments. But honestly, instagram (for me) has been the least inspiring place for me to put them.
Posting only for them to be valued and pushed up the feed by likes and affirmative comments that itās what people like to see or whatās trending ā which is so far from why I take these photos or do this work.
The greatest place I can put these photos after theyāve been taken is back in the hands of my clients. Back to their homes. š¤
Iām not saying marketing isnāt important, Iām not even saying my lack of posting is the wise move business wise (š) but 8 years into this refining journey of being a wedding photographer and never have I felt less of a call to submit my work to the approval of man ā or in this case, the endless algorithm that asks for more of me and the ānext thingā every week.
So thereās my honest update. Itās been a really secret place lately ā exchanging photos only between the camera, computer, my client, and I. No crowd clapping in the comments every weekend or saving posts and drawing inspiration from my poses/locations. My follower count is not growing and many will surpass me in the benchmark to whatever number of followers is considered āalotā⦠it seems that number continues to climb. What used to be 10k is now thousands more. What is more will one day still not be enough. Anyone tired? š
I wonder if Iām alone, but if Iām not, Iād love to hear from you and encourage my fellow photo friends as we work tirelessly through this busy season that the greatest place we can place our work is back in the hands of God and the special people we take these photos for, the rest will come ā or it wonāt, and thatās equally okay. Iāve been quiet, but my soul has never felt better or more proud of the work being done. šš¤
Helloooo summer ā it is time for me to emerge from my Instagram posting hiatus and share the work I do nearly undercover these days! šš¤
