Last Spring, Sana reached out with a stack of cyanotypes, a series of poetry, and a vision. Together we worked to create two clothbound Japanese stab bind books, one using her original prints and a near-identical reproduction.
Pictured here is the reproduction, as the original was immediately sent to Berlin to be shown at the “For Real For Real” exhibition, part of DAAD Gallery’s Artist-in-Berlin Program (
@daad_artists ), curated by poet Claudia Rankine, The Racial Imaginary (
@theracialimaginary ), and Hauser & Wirth.
The program included readings, talks and screenings. While the original exhibition in Berlin ran from May 15 to July 27, it will remain ongoing, with upcoming venues to include New York, Barcelona, Stockholm, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Michigan.
