As football reaches one of the biggest moments in the season, we’re celebrating what the game can make possible beyond the pitch ⚽🧡
Last December, the Brighton Winter Cup brought together eight teams, more than 100 players and a brilliant community of supporters at Withdean Stadium, raising over £800 for Breadwinners.
What made the day so memorable (beyond the skills) was the generosity and warmth around it; people giving their time, bringing their energy and showing what it means to welcome people into the life of a community.
That kind of support really matters to our work with young refugees, helping us create opportunities for work experience, training, mentoring and connection as they build their futures in the UK.
A huge throwback of a thank you to all the players, teams and supporters, and especially to @welcometoabc and @wearevyd for making it happen.
As we look ahead to Refugee Week in June, we’d love to be part of more collaborations like this.
