As football reaches one of the biggest moments in the season, we’re celebrating what the game can make possible beyond the pitch ⚽🧡 Last December, the Brighton Winter Cup brought together eight teams, more than 100 players and a brilliant community of supporters at Withdean Stadium, raising over £800 for Breadwinners. What made the day so memorable (beyond the skills) was the generosity and warmth around it; people giving their time, bringing their energy and showing what it means to welcome people into the life of a community. That kind of support really matters to our work with young refugees, helping us create opportunities for work experience, training, mentoring and connection as they build their futures in the UK. A huge throwback of a thank you to all the players, teams and supporters, and especially to @welcometoabc and @wearevyd for making it happen. As we look ahead to Refugee Week in June, we’d love to be part of more collaborations like this. #YoungRefugees #Brighton #FootballForGood #CommunityImpact #Breadwinners

We’re really pleased to share that we’ve once again been named in the Top 100 Social Enterprises 2026! @pioneers_post @natwest_business Being recognised alongside so many inspiring organisations is something we don’t take for granted. We are especially proud to be included again having been part of this list previously. It is a reminder that the work we are doing continues to matter and evolve. While we are not expecting to take the top spot this time, that is not what drives us. What matters most is the impact we are making with the people and communities we support every day. Thank you to everyone who continues to be part of our journey. This recognition belongs to you as much as it does to us. #SETAward2026 #NatWest #SE100 #SE100Index #ImpactPioneers

At kilometre 35 of his first marathon, Shamil hit his hardest moment. But he didn’t stop. He told himself: “I can!” From never having run more than 30km to completing his first marathon in 2:47:53, Shamil’s journey is about resilience, belief, and pushing beyond what feels possible in the moment. Next year, he’s aiming even higher. Read his full story through our LinkTree in bio. #YoungPeople #YouthVoices #Resilience #FirstMarathon #KeepGoing

These 5 International House organisations alone support over 3,000 young people in Lambeth every year. With the sale of International House, we risk losing this vital support. On May 7th, remember who stood by Lambeth's young people, and who didn't. More information on this on our latest carousel. #saveinternationalhouse #Gentrification #youngpeople #Brixton #Lambeth

Partnerships between charities and businesses are at their best when they go beyond goodwill and lead to practical help, sharper thinking and shared learning. At Breadwinners, we spend a great deal of time thinking about the role work plays in transforming lives: not simply as a route to income, but as a source of dignity, confidence and possibility for young people from forced migration backgrounds. We also think about the skills gaps across our economy, and about how much talent is too often overlooked. Integration matters deeply too, since we know strong communities are built when people are given the chance to contribute, to belong and to play a full part in society. That is why our partnership with @pwc_uk proved even more valuable than we had anticipated. When people bring their professional skills to organisations like ours, the impact can be immediate. Our team benefited hugely from @pwc_uk ’s expertise in impact reporting, communications and story building. In return, their team spent time with an organisation defined by a cohesive culture, a can-do attitude, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of young people with experience of forced migration. This kind of exchange helps more people understand both the challenge and the opportunity in this work. A huge thank you to the @pwc_uk team for the time, care and expertise they brought to Breadwinners. #risers #breadwinners #proofers #mentors

Meet Francesca 🧡 She's one of our Super Mentors, this means she has supported more than one young person and she's also excelled as a facilitator for several of our sessions. Alongside employability training and work experience within our Programmes, mentoring provides something equally powerful: encouragement, accountability and trusted guidance. It creates the space for young people to build confidence, strengthen skills and make informed decisions about their future. For many of the young people we support, a mentor offers consistency and perspective at a critical moment. That relationship often becomes the anchor that helps learning translate into long term progress. In this current climate, people need people. If you're looking for a meaningful way to support and stand with young people, we are currently welcoming new mentors. Your involvement can play a massive role in creating the conditions where young people can thrive. Next Mentor group interview dates: April 21st May 19th June 16th Head over to our Linktree and apply to become a Volunteer Mentor!

We’re looking back and celebrating highlights from our International House Impact Video which we released a whole two years ago(!) We loved chatting to Martin Cosarinsky-Campos, managing director of @wearebreadwinners about how our community initiatives floor has enabled their grassroots organisation to grow and fulfil their mission of supporting young refugees into work via their employability programmes. At International House we’re incredibly proud to be a home to many organisations supporting Refugees @refugeesathome @compasscollect @oshyouth @babylonproject @hopefortheyoung @cityofsanctuaryuk @the_bikeproject Check out the amazing work that Breadwinners continues to do by heading to their channels.
