I was recently able to complete my set of rehoused Vintage Carl Zeiss Jena# DDR lenses. Here are a few shots taken with the 50mm Pancolar thanks to the generous support of @sara.ullmann @schulz.film and @fo.goods The set was rebuilt by @retro.foto.house and I am very impressed with the quality they add to the 1970ies @zeisscameralenses glass. Our work for Zeiss earned awards! The documentary ‚eyesolation aid‘ that we shot on the lofoten islands won silver at this years BOB awards and was shortlisted for the Garety awards. Super proud! The doc deals with the challenge of medical treatment in remote areas and the innovative new treatment methods Dr. Skau developed in colaboration with Zeiss Medical. We traveled to mexico to shoot this documentary about Magdalena. She works as a safety Officer in a mine in the remote mountains near carcas. Her workplace is over 1 kilometer below ground and very dangerous - it‘s 40 degrees and extremly humid down there. There they are dependent on special respiratory masks supported by @draeger.global who sent us there. Filming under this conditions was really struggling. Keeping eye of safety clothing, oxygen level, water supply and coordination of crew transportation (using translators and chunks of english) made it adventorous. Thanks to @mr.fresh.original @fischer.film and the whole crew we somehow made it work! Cameragear in foreign countries can be surprising, but i was able to get my hands on some vintage Zeiss B-Speed lenses from the 70s. They added the texture I desired for this project and supported with their charming triangular bokeh.
