Our members are at the core of our programmes. Their comfort, but most importantly their safety and experience. So many of the women who walk through our doors have been let down by professionals and systems that should have shown up for them. When they come through our doors, they feel the difference. š§”
Thank you @sable.labs for a reviving morning š§”

āNothing censored, we got to actually see real lifeā
Radio Silence follows two @wegettouchyfeely members through radiotherapy. Two Black women navigating one of the most physically and emotionally brutal experiences of their lives and doing it with a language barrier that our healthcare system didnāt accommodate.
From day one, amplifying the voices of Black women navigating cancer has been at the heart of everything we do. This documentary took that further than we ever have before and the room felt it.
Clinicians who watched it said it changed how they see their patients. That they finally understood what had been going unspoken in their consultations. That they want to carry these insights into their practice.
That is what representation in health media can do.
Not just inform. Transform.
We are one week in and we are just getting started.
To bring Radio Silence to your organisation, please get in touch, we would to see how we accommodate! š§
š The government just released a Renewed Womenās Health Strategy. And yes, cancer is in it.. but you have to know where to look.
Swipe through for every cancer-specific commitment in the strategy: what theyāre actually promising, whatās genuinely new, and crucially, what they left out about Women from ethnic minority groups.
A strategy that talks about eliminating cervical cancer by 2040 but doesnāt specifically address why Black women are less likely to come forward for screening isnāt a complete strategy, itās more of a starting point.
Save this. Share it with someone who needs it. And follow us. Weāll be watching to see how these commitments land in practice.
RADIO SILENCE Screening 1, completed! š¬
On Friday evening we hosted a private screening of Radio Silence in London for our partners and allies.
@nhsengland@dhscgovuk@macmillancancer , clinicians and executives all in one room, watching a documentary built from the lived realities of Black women navigating cancer care with a language barrier.
The panel conversation that followed confirmed what our community has been saying for years..
š The literature in the NHS.
š The literature in textbooks.
š The literature in training.
š¤ It is all built based on the white experience.
Radio Silence dives deeper and looks at the real cost of a language barrier during radiotherapy. It was made with the trust of two of our members, and we do not take that lightly.
The feedback has been extraordinary. The work continues.
Our next screening is for our community, for you and we cannot wait to bring you into the room.
If you want to support Radio Silence as it travels further, reach out. We want to hear from you. š§”
No words but all the feeels. Thank you to all who attended! I canāt wait for us to do more together.
Touchy-Feely members, youāre next!! Look out for an email this coming week š„³š§”
Touchy-Feely on tour? Maybe! š
šØWAIT A MINUTE, AI did what now?! šØ
Yes thatās right, AI just read 175,000 breast scans.. faster AND more accurately.šš¾
BUT we have questions.
Thereās no doubt that the research conducted by @google@cambridgeuniversity@imperialcollege and @nhsengland is promising, but promising for who? If the data AI was trained on didnāt include us, then the gap doesnāt close. It just goes digital.
Black and South Asian women are already the least likely to attend screening. They already face the most barriers. So when a new technology arrives and nobodyās asking whether it works equally for everyone, thatās not progress. Thatās the same story with a different cover.
We read the study so you donāt have to guess. We asked the questions the headlines skipped. Swipe through and let us know what youāre thinking š

Cancer isnāt fair. We know that. Our community knows that better than most.
The postcode you live in, the skin youāre in, the wage you earn; it can shape what kind of care you get. That has never been okay.
What gives us hope is when the people with reach decide to use it.
@macmillancancer - we see you. We stand with you. Weāll keep doing this work until equitable cancer care is received by all. š§”

Charity partner of the evening.. TOUCHY-FEELY! š§”š«
To attend year 2 of @thecccawards as charity partner is something that weāre incredibly proud of. Itās a reflection of the work, the community, and the intention behind everything Touchy-Feely stands for.
But more than anything, what made the evening was who we shared it with.. our members. Our allies. Our community.
Weāre proud. Weāre grateful. And weāre just getting started š§”
