After an atmospheric river devastates a family’s flourishing saffron crop, the flood waters return Semá:th Xó:tsa to the valley more than a century after its forced draining. Tracing Sumas lake’s history alongside saffron’s renewal, the film links ecological repair and cultural resurgence through hand-processing and analogue experiments, asking what saffron reveals about our bond with land. - DOXA
