"Tenderly there" – an exhibition by @tashattot.collective at @fomuantwerp – an honour and pleasure to write the exhibition text and essay "Voorbij de universele queer/beyond the global queer". About blue haired baristas, hijacked imaginations and fluidity that cannot be disciplined.

🛶Next step, Same river 🛶 This triptych belongs to a series of 6 paintings. At its core, the work critiques the cycle of erosion of human and women’s rights as well as the dangers of passive acceptance. The title of the project “Other Step, Same River” subverts the well-known adage that “you never step in the same river twice,” instead implying that while individuals evolve, the systemic forces they face remain unchanged. The invocation of Ophelia—a figure defined by surrender—stands in stark contrast to the other triptych’s energy of defiance, offering an alternative vision of resistance, which I will show at a later date.
