I’ve had the honor of playing alongside some of the hardest working people in music, hard to believe it’s been 20 years.
Ready to start the next chapter!
Ibo Cooper
It’s been months, the dust has settled, yet I’m still coming to terms with this transition. Unlike most of my colleagues and peers I was not familiar with Ibo Cooper the Third World (band) keyboard player/singer, but instead I knew the teacher, the dreamer Mister Cooper.
If I’m to be honest, my ‘ambitions’ in music were pretty anarchic, there wasn’t much of a template to follow based on my vantage point. Fortunately, this man with his wealth of experience and knowledge inspired an innumerable amount of us to be more than we could see or even imagine, for this I’m eternally grateful.
A flawed man like all of us, yet every interaction was a lifelong lesson, and his ability to see better in people as well as the wisdom to awaken versions of one’s self (that perhaps he alone could unearth), was second to none.
To have reconciled with one who’s had such a profound impact on my career and life was always my hope…
Thank you Kingsley Michael ‘Ibo’ Cooper; Teacher, Dreamer, Visionary, Cultural Icon, Legend.
Another year of over a hundred shows with @theofficialsting . Reminiscing on a wonderful and important part of the journey as the Europe tour draws to a close. 🌍
