A brilliant evening at the Trades Hall celebrating tradition and craft. The Weavers Box Opening is a chance to come together, reflect on the charitable work of the craft, and celebrate both its long history and its continuing relevance today. Always exciting to see the work of the next generation of Scottish designers. The portfolios of @gsatextiles students were outstanding. There’s something really special about seeing historic spaces like this filled with conversation, ideas,and new creative energy. The designers have been quietly working away in the background to create their upcycled outfits. 
Each look is part of our Fashion for Social Change design challenge inspired by Scotland’s rich textile heritage and created entirely from Shelter Scotland’s rag stock. Why rag? Because these are the textiles that can’t be sold in-store: the damaged, the overlooked, the forgotten. And instead of sending them to recycling, our designers are transforming them into eveningwear that celebrates creativity, sustainability, and Scottish craft. In less than two weeks, you’ll be the first to see the results live at one of Glasgow’s most historic and glamorous venues. A Night at the Trades Hall isn’t just a fashion about the competition. It’s:
