A symbol that feels both modern and timeless, we aimed to create a stamp of quality that sits proudly on its own, while standing tall for Canadian storytelling.
A program created through the Association of Canadian Publishers, the mark is simple, versatile, and distinctly Canadian.

Most space companies embrace sterile, hyper-digital aesthetics that feel disconnected from humanity. When Canadian start-up Ronan Space Systems approached Vancouver-based creative agency ZAK, they wanted something unorthodox yet meaningful – a brand that aligns with their vision of building for humanity beyond tomorrow while reflecting their cultural ambitions alongside their technological ones.

A few years back, we worked with @abreadaffairbakery on a refresh that’s been slowly making its way into the world.
The direction was all about bringing more brightness, character, and shelf presence to a business with a pretty special story: BC’s first certified organic bakery.
We wanted the system to feel more modern, joyful, and ownable, while still staying rooted in what makes A Bread Affair great: organic ingredients, real craft, and a healthy amount of bread puns.
Very fun seeing more of it come to life across loaves, baguettes, displays, and the day-to-day rhythm of the bakery.

@1889tradingco takes its name from the year Yip Sang built the Wing Sang building in Vancouver’s Chinatown and established the original Wing Sang Company trading house.
Created with the @ccmuseumbc , the identity draws inspiration from Chinese Canadians past and present. Illustration, colour, and layered textures form a visual language rooted in heritage while remaining modern, playful, and adaptable.

We had the pleasure of once again working with the wonderful Gina (@love_all_design ) on this years @vancouverwritersfest campaign.
This campaign came to life through a system built around bold, shapely character illustrations and modular layouts that flex from large-scale outdoor to digital and print. The goal was simple: capture the energy of storytelling in a way that feels contemporary, playful, and unmistakably human.
A quick look back at our campaign for the @rgdcanada Branding Awards in Toronto last month. We were lucky enough to run with a brief that touched just about everything: visual direction, motion and 3D, and some tactile finishes like letterpress and 3D printing.
Always nice seeing the work out in the world, and even better seeing it celebrating the work of so many talented designers. Until the next one.
