This nomadic group is on the move!  Common Folk has always been about creativity, community, and making space for artists to thrive. After a period of deep exploration and strategic planning, we’re excited to share that we are taking on a residency at The Walkaway House to begin in the Spring of 2025. What does this mean? A fresh space for a shared studio, private studios, screen printing, workshops, events, and a photography room—all designed to support artists and makers like you.  We’re elated by the support of Walkaway House owners Ben and Carolyn and really excited at all the possibilities this collaboration holds. We are so grateful to our collective and community members who keep the mission alive and growing and have been crucial in the development of our collective future.  Stay tuned :) We will have lots more updates coming soon! #commonfolk #intheberkshires #artistsstudiospaces #newbeginnings #northadamsma #creators #studiospace

As ArtWeek kicks off in the Berkshires this week, come participate in an Open Studio workshop and idea jam for a new storytelling project launching in North Adams! 📍 @wearecommonfolk Artist Collective, 165 E Main St, North Adams 📆 Sat May 16, 6pm - 8pm 🎟️ FREE! This is an official ArtWeek Berkshires Open Studio event, featuring a mini-workshop on storytelling and a brief presentation on the new community storytelling project Stories for the Common Good. Stories for the Common Good features curated and crafted true stories from Berkshire communities, involving critical systems in our lives that we rely on everyday and which exist to benefit everyone — for the common good. For example: the local public library is an amazing common good that exists to benefit *everyone*, yet we don't often get to dig into the stories of how much goes into keeping this community hub functional and vibrant. Similar examples of the common good include volunteer fire fighters, the department of public works, food access nonprofits, town water supplies, and more. Come learn more about the process of crafting these kinds of complex stories that don't revolve around a single heroic protagonist but instead intertwine everyday folks like you and me. The rest of the session will feature Hari and collaborating artists as they brainstorm storyboards together at creative stations around the shared studio space at Common Folk Artist Collective. This is part of a series, with the next event happening on Fri May 22 at the new Green Room @greenroomnama speakeasy in North Adams! For more on the project, visit #intheberkshires #artweekberkshires #convivo

It's the last day to help us win $1000 from our fiscal agent @fractured.atlas !!! Every donation we receive by the end of the day today is an entry. That means even if you donate just $1, that counts as a whole entry! The more donations we receive the bigger the chance we have at winning a $1000 grant! We are so grateful to everyone who has helped so far! It really shows how much our community believes in what we do ❤️ Make your donation now: monfolk.org/support-us

We are on day two of our Spring Match Campaign with our fiscal sponsor @fractured.atlas and we are so thrilled to share that we have secured 20 entries into the raffle to win $1000! And we raised $385 along the way. We are so grateful to all the folks who have given us extra dollars towards our mission. Your support directly impacts all the humans in these photos. This is just a small sampling of our current members, 10 out of 40 of them to be exact! Artists. Innovators. Builders. Dreamers. Your Neighbors. All deserving of a space to create that is affordable and build on community power. Let’s show them the power of collective action. Whether it’s $1 or $100, you’re helping us keep the momentum going for the next 12 years and beyond. Can we reach 40 donors by the end of the day to honor the 40 members we have in the collective? How does the Spring Match Campaign work? Our fiscal sponsor is holding a raffle, and the rules are perfect for a community like ours: Every single donation—no matter the size—counts as an entry for us to win a $1,000 grant. - It’s not about the dollar amount; it’s about the volume of support. - Your $1 contribution is a "vote" for local culture. - If we win, that $1,000 goes straight into the tools, space, and programming that keeps this vibrant community humming. Your $1 entry could be the one that secures us $1000! Donate Here: monfolk.org/support-us Or go to the link in our bio!

Help us win $1,000!!! This week our fiscal sponsor @fractured.atlas is giving away $1000 to 20 lucky organizations. But we need your help! Every single person who makes a donation between May 4th thru the 8th earns us an entry to win. Here's the cool part: The amount you give doesn't matter - it's the number of donors that counts! That means you can give $1, $5, or $10 (I mean we would humbly accept more if you can 🥰) whatever amount that makes sense to you. And if you do it by end of the day on Friday, your donation could be the ticket that secures us $1,000. If all of our followers gave us $1 we would have 3,000 entries!! What would $1,000 do for an artist collective like ours? ✨ Pay for 1 year of Shared Studio membership for 2 artists in need! ✨ Pay for staff to work Makers on Main for 10 months. ✨ Pay for utilities for 1 month ✨ Keep our membership rates affordable and accessible year round ✨ Help us buy our building (more on that soon 👀) ✨ And so much more! We are endlessly grateful for how this community is so committed to grassroots arts organizations. Without you and your support, none of this is possible. Donate: monfolk.org/support-us 🔗 in bio
