Ecstatic presents the sublime second release from Mancunian duo Celestial, 'Listen To The Sky' offers a quiet fusion of Balearic blues and kosmische influences following up their mesmerizing 2021 debut "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night".
Evoking a rich sonic palette of guitar instrumentals with echoes of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells and Frippertronics , Celestial deftly forge their own gentle and uncluttered fusion of acoustic and electric guitar textures with immersive environmental synthetic washes.
Opener 'Brother Sun, Sister Moon' pairs Celestial with fellow dreamer and labelmate Romance for a stunning piece of modern chamber music wreathed with strident electric guitar, piano, horns and electronics, oceans of hiss bathe 'To The Green Mountains' plagent synth bass and meditative Paris, Texas esque guitar figures while 'Four Temperaments' provides an uncharacteristically but welcome clangorous and urgent new age lament.
'Listen To The Sky's sun-drenched soundscapes and ethereal productions unfold with a kaleidoscopic and nostalgic ennui tenderly captured on fragile AGFA tap providing a mesmeric deep listening experience that skews to the mythic and transcendental.
