You may already know our name, but here's our story!
WDVX is East Tennessee's Own independent, listener-supported community radio station rooted in Southern Appalachia. We are dedicated to live music, grassroots, Americana, and the cultural heritage of our region. No algorithms, no corporate nonsense, just real people playing real music. As a nonprofit arts organization, we exist because of listeners like you!
You can support us year round by donating or becoming a sustainer at wdvx.com/support, signing up to volunteer at wdvx.com/volunteer, shopping our online store, or simply spreading the word. And if you want to make an extra impact, our Spring Fund Drive is coming up April 8th-15th! Every contribution makes a difference.
Tune in on 89.9 FM (East Tennessee), 102.9 FM (Knoxville), 93.9 FM (Gatlinburg), or stream live at wdvx.com. You can also catch Blue Plate Special performances and more on the WDVX YouTube channel.

Headlining the evening is @reddandthepaperflowers , a Knoxville-based group that pulls from folk, bluegrass, and Appalachian influences into what they call “living room folk.” Opening the night is @ettorebuzzini , a Swiss-American banjo prodigy known for his inventive, high-energy take on traditional bluegrass.
If you can’t make it in person, tune in on 89.9 FM, 102.9 FM (Knoxville), 93.9 FM (Gatlinburg), or stream live at wdvx.com.

WDVX invites the community to join us on Saturday, May 23 for Steve Davis Hoops & Celebration of Life, honoring the life and spirit of Knoxville’s beloved “Hula Hoop Guy” and cherished WDVX family member, Steve Davis. Steve was a familiar and joyful presence around the station and throughout downtown Knoxville, and his sudden passing earlier this year left a lasting impact on the many people who knew and loved him.
The celebration takes place from 3PM–7PM on Market Square and will feature live music, hula hoops, and community gathering, followed by an open mic at 6PM inside Scruffy City Hall for stories and memories of Steve. Performances from EmiSunshine, Drew Fisher, and others will round out the evening.
A donation at the door is requested, with a portion of proceeds benefiting WDVX, a station that held a special place in Steve’s life.
thanks for having us @wdvx at @barleysknoxville 🍻
we’re headed down to Townsend, TN for our show tonight at @gsmheritagecenter . see you there! music starts at 7.
Correlations may be easily drawn between the Grateful Dead's music and Blues, Country, Bluegrass, and even Jazz. You must listen a little more intently to hear the Classical influence. We'll make it easy for you tonight on the Grateful Shuffle (10pm Eastern) to recognize these examples as we speak with the Owsley Stanley Foundation Board of Directors and sample their latest release. You can listen live from wdvx.com or on the radio at 89.9 East TN, 102.9 Knoxville, 93.9 FM Sevier County.
