🌟 National Volunteer Week is here. This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” celebrates the many ways people contribute across different life stages, communities and circumstances. Every volunteer brings something valuable to our community, and we are grateful for the time, skills and kindness they share. Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing inspiring stories from some of our wonderful volunteers and community members, highlighting the impact they make every day. Stay tuned. #NVW2026 #VolunteerYear

Yesterday, we celebrated the amazing mums who are raising not only their children, but also the next generation of climate champions 🌏💚 Meet Foram, one of our wonderful Whittlesea Climate Action Network (WCAN) members, teaching her six-year-old daughter how to care for the environment and build sustainable habits ♻️✨ It’s a beautiful reminder that climate action starts at home. We hope all mums had a lovely Mother’s Day and felt celebrated for everything they do for their families, communities and our planet 💚 Want to learn more about WCAN? Visit the link in our bio.

👩‍👧 Earlier this week, our Parent Pathways team hosted a beautiful Mother’s Day Morning Tea at Kirrip Community Centre in Wollert. Around 90 parents, children and community members joined us for a joyful morning of connection, delicious food and fun activities, including face painting, henna, balloon twisting and a photo booth. It was wonderful to see families travelling from as far as Wallan and Kilmore to be part of the celebration and connect with the community. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special 🌸✨

Meet Abdullah 👷 Through the Economic Pathways to Refugee Integration (EPRI) initiative, Abdullah received support through WCC to improve his CV, prepare for interviews and connect with supportive local employers, like @repurposeit_ Abdullah is now working full-time, supporting his family and building confidence and stability in his new community. EPRI helps create meaningful employment pathways and stronger, more cohesive communities. We would welcome continued government support for EPRI.
