Comparison is unavoidable. Jealousy is optional.
In this episode of Leadership in Black & White, Pastors John and Wayne walk through the differences between comparison and jealousy—and what to do when you realize that jealousy is taking hold of your heart.

I tried to find a picture on my iPhone to capture the essence of this couple but it was my film camera that captioned the right moment. Thanks Candace and @louman_nati for inviting me to celebrate your big day. I think this photo shows so much about the wildly upbeat and fun couple you’ll be.
@waynefrancis brought a powerful message to @healthiswealthexpo
A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body.
But envy, comparison, and constant striving? That drains you from the inside out. Real health isn’t just what you see in the mirror. It’s how you think, how you feel, how you move, and how you show up spiritually.
Get your mind right. Protect your peace. Take care of your body. Feed your spirit.
That’s the balance most of us are missing.
Thank you @ashtyncrank + @parisyahomie for letting us share your special day! Much love to our friends @davidcrank and @nicolecrank for letting us share vibes, laughter and some dancing with your fam! And shout out @adriennebailon for the dope cover (digital) pic you captured of me and Classy!
When your Pastor talks about a #BronxStaple like #NicksPizza on #GunHillRoad out of pure reverence you stop by, but when you are a #BronxHead or from the #BoogieDown and you KNOW how good Nicks was to you growing up…you make a pit stop on the strength of Good Memories!! Thank you Pastor @waynefrancis and @thelifechurchnewyork for reminding me to eat at Nicks! I even left some Easter cards in the area…

From Manhattan’s nonstop energy to Brooklyn’s creative, community-driven streets to the Bronx’s bold, vibrant culture. Each borough carries its own rhythm but together they tell one powerful story.
We can’t help but think of what it could look like for TLCNY to plant roots here! Which borough do you think would be a good fit for a Life Church location?

Funny how in a city famous for its art…its sculptures, statues, and masterpieces, I ended up capturing my own on a little film camera.
Last week we were walking the streets of Florence, Italy. I had the film camera I carry with me most days and asked @classy1999 to lean against a wall covered in graffiti. I didn’t want a staged photo…I just waited for a moment that felt like her.
So I said, “just do some natural stuff.” Not great direction, I admit but the result proved it was good enough.
When I picked up the developed film today, this pic floored me.
I often describe my wife as statuesque probably because I’m 5’7 and she’s 5’10 (especially if she’s not rocking a top bun). She’s effortlessly classy.
Looking through these photos today I just felt this deep sense of gratitude and pride for her.
We’re in an interesting season of marriage. Midlife has a way of making you ask bigger questions about meaning and purpose. But lately there’s also been this ease between us working together, hanging together, laughing more.
And I’ve been discovering new things about her. Hearing stories about the way she’s impacting people that she never even thought to tell me. She has a way of earning quiet influence.
So yeah…I just found myself thinking today how grateful I am for her.
She’s not the rose that forced her way through concrete. She’s the rose that grew where it was planted…the obvious and most beautiful flower in the garden.
My girl is a chiseled masterpiece, like the David not far from where this photo was taken. Timeless…and feminine and w/ a fun boisterous laugh to ensure things aren’t always as so structured as her personality naturally leans to.
I looked at this photo and the only thought I had was simple:
Man…I love my wife. A woman like this stands out in a culture graffitied with caricatures of womanhood.
An amazing honor to teach leaders from all across Europe at our MAKE ROOM CONFERENCE alongside my pastor @johnsiebeling and my colleagues @marcogeraci@jonathanwwilson and @adrianwrightsa in Florence, Italy. It’s amazing to see leaders leaning in to impact Europe in a big way!

First stop is Tarrytown. From the Music Hall to Main Street coffee shops to the waterfront, there’s so much life here and it feels like a place where community is already happening. Plus it puts us close to Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, and even Rockland County. And yes, it’s the Tappan Zee forever!
Would Tarrytown be a good fit for a Life Church location?
