Wayne Branch was born and raised in Barbados. Initially self-taught, Wayne studied at the internationally renowned Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Yale University Graduate School of Fine Arts.
His career is riddled with awards and prizes for his extraordinary paintings, many of which are to be found in both private and public collections locally, regionally, and internationally. A few notable inclusions are the Barbados Museum, the Barbados Gallery of Art Collection and the Detroit Institute of Arts.
He continues to successfully create captivating works of art which highlight the overall effect of natural light while expressing the reflective moods, emotion, life and customs of his subjects.

Joe’s River Falls
Many may assume that this image depicts a landscape in another location outside of Barbados. Well I unapologetically tell you that it is not only in Barbados, but a scene from its sweetest and sexiest parish, St. Joseph. Castigate me if you wish, say I have a natural bias too, but I understand and sympathise with you who have not ever lived there like me, who grew up in that land. It was so much fun growing up there, traversing the big gully where I vividly recall even fishing for crawfish at the foot of this very waterfall, just a few years ago when in my teens.
As we celebrate Barbados’ Independence, let’s appreciate this painting which goes back to a time in the early 1800s when water flowed in abundance in this land. Now sadly the once cascading waterfall is but a mere trickle with the river above the fall almost choked by undergrowth and brush.

Wayne Branch Studio is a fine art painting and print business operated by renowned artist Wayne Branch. Specializing in crafting one of a kind masterpieces, he offers a personalized experience with valuation certificates included with every purchase.
We conceptualized an identity influenced by the Renaissance period and compliments Wayne's neo-impressionism aesthetic. The WB monogram is minimal and modern but styled traditionally to show the studio's experience in its craft. The intricacy of the monogram has a stamp of authority, which shows the professionalism expected from the studio, and a calming cold bluish cyan that shows creativity and intelligence.
Painting, sculpture and decorative arts were heavily popularized in the Renaissance period of 1400 AD. Renaissance art took as its foundation the art of Classical antiquity, perceived as the noblest of ancient traditions, but transformed by absorbing recent developments in the art of Northern Europe and applying modern scientific knowledge.
