@crumpled.dance “One of the forefront exports from Aotearoa’s House/Electronica scene and alumni of the Red Bull Music Academy, @k2kokay sets are only growing bigger and better, having recently recorded a Boiler Room and playing sets at legendary UK clubs such as Fabric, Phonox, and Corsica.”
Andy was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 4 months ago and in the same week she was invited back to her homeland for a boiler room debut. The first ever boiler room in the pacific islands.
I can’t bring to words how special this event is in her journey. As a new mother and one of the strongest people I know. The timing of this show was meant to be.

As a friend, family and manager I am overwhelmed with love and admiration.
@itspeachmilk playing at @twomindsfestival where harmonious fusion of global dance icons meets local ravers. Set in the beautiful Ōtautahi for the underground dance music community.
@aaatarangi is a force of nature in the world of music and a testament to hard work paying off #youbetterworkbitch. Their journey began in the ever-changing ballroom ecosystem, drawing inspiration from the vibrant queer underground scene in Aotearoa and the lively energy of New York City. Atarangi's unique sound is a melting pot of influences, seamlessly blending techno, jersey club, ballroom, and fast-paced, percussive hard drum in perfect chaos.
But Atarangi is more than just a DJ. They are a pivotal figure in the Aotearoa ballroom community, and they play a vital role in running and DJing at the iconic Tāmaki Makaurau-based queer club night, NYMPHO. Their dedication to sexual liberation and gender euphoria is evident on and off the dance floor.
If you know Andy, you know that she is the most beautiful soul and spirit, always there to brighten our lives. For years, Andy has been a pillar of strength, always with the biggest grin on her face and the most loving and infectious laugh. She serves as a true inspiration to those around her, consistently supporting others in the community through her various endeavours, such as being the founder of Dynasty Collective, DJs Anonymous, and her involvement with After Ours Studio, among others. Andy's genuine desire has always been to uplift and assist others. Now, it's our opportunity to come together and offer our support to her. It's important to note that Andy @andyheartthrob is not only a remarkable DJ in Aotearoa, but she has also recently become a proud mother to her adorable 5-month-old, Ruuru.
Two weeks ago, Andy was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic bowel cancer which had spread to her liver, lymph nodes and lungs. Her oncologist recommended urgent chemotherapy due to the cancer’s aggressive nature she might not survive more than two weeks.
A givealittle page has been launched by Andy’s incredible whanau. “Your aroha and generosity will fuel Andy, our heartthrob on her journey, relieve financial pressure on our family and focus on healing Andy, giving her and Ruuru the support they need.”
