Introducing the 2026 Book Trail bookstore lineup + poster reveal 🐇🌟
This year’s lineup includes *36* local independent bookstores in Austin and neighboring areas — 8 more than last year! We can’t wait for you to discover the shops that make up the backbone of our literary scene.
For this year’s artwork, we were inspired by Alice in Wonderland and its playful world of discovery. Austin-based artist and muralist Victoria Cardeñas (@wavy.roller ) helped translate this magic for our weekend of bookstore-driven exploration.

We are so excited to announce the newest art installation adorning the walls in the main dinning room @bouldincreekcafeatx@wavy.roller is a self-taught painter who explores their connection with the world around them. An introverted observer who loves to soak in the elements that creates their direct environment.
Their latest work - “One with You” - dives deeper with the animals that are seen during their hikes and outside their home to connect with the ones they share space with.
Alongside these pieces are older works that are inspired by their wandering mind and portals to a calmer space.
