Kicked off the season in our Touring 3 VW Golf R at Blackhawk Farms… fresh repave and seriously fast conditions. Lap records were falling all weekend at the SCCA Mark Amenda Majors, and the competition in class was tough.
Hit a new personal best in qualifying, then came through with a win in Race 1 and a new track record. Unfortunately, Race 2 ended early with a damaged gearbox.
Walking away proud of the performance and confident in our program as we push toward the SCCA Runoffs this fall. We’ll miss the June Sprints, but it’s time to regroup, get to work, and come back even stronger for the next one.

Installing a single LSD is a common drivetrain upgrade for the MQB platform... but this MK7.5 Golf R is getting two 👀
In our latest workshop video we install @wavetrac_differentials limited slip differentials front and rear to maximise traction and improve power delivery through the drivetrain.
While the Golf R's AWD system is already capable, open differentials can still allow inside wheel slip under load. By fitting Wavetrac LSDs to both axles, torque can be transferred more effectively to the wheels with the most grip - improving corner exit traction, stability and overall driver confidence.
