Slow Summer Club A neighborhood community club on Madison Ave in Lakewood joining together a no-pressure movement class with a fun, creative craft project Join Wave Space Studio (@wavespacestudio ) and Forte Women’s Wellness Sanctuary (@forte_lakewood ) for a slower kind of summer. One Friday a month — June 19 • July 17 • August 19 5:00–7:30pm Summer can feel like constant motion — like you should always be out, doing more, filling every moment. This is something different. A space for creation and expression — not consumption. Each evening begins with a gentle, no-pressure movement class or meditation. From there, we’ll take a short walk down the street in the warm summer air to Wave Space Studio for a guided art session. Along the way, enjoy light snacks and mocktails — sip and stay, or bring them with you to the studio. We take care of everything — gathering the supplies, setting the tone, doing the shopping, and cleaning up the mess. You just show up. To keep the experience relaxed and personal, this is intentionally a small, intimate group (limited to 10 people). Everything is included — movement, mocktails, snacks, art instruction, and all materials. No experience needed. No expectations. Just movement, connection, and making something for the joy of it. $225 for the full Summer Club (June–August) $85 single sessions (if space allows, released 2 weeks prior) We are opening this first as a full series to create a consistent, connected group experience. Any remaining spots will be released for individual sessions closer to each date. Spots are limited — come once (if available), or make it your monthly ritual

This week we had a workshop @akronartmuseum doing screen printing and we also got to do cyanotypes! Everyone got so creative and really got into the process. I showed them how to use drawing fluid and screw filler to make a screen and we cut out stencils by hand also. We did mono prints with watercolor crayons and mixed colors for split fountain prints. We all printed a tote bag with a spring design also!

We have two spots left for our kids block Printing class next Sunday the 26th. We use Lego tiles and carve into foam to create amazing block prints! It’s great for all ages! The younger kids learn motor skills and dexterity. The older kids develop their creativity! Art encourages risk-taking and experimentation, boosting confidence as students bring ideas to life and learn to embrace mistakes. Message us if you have any questions and you can sign up on Eventbrite through the link in our bio!

@maggie.latham was at @mocacleveland for our monthly program Family Canvas: Art and Nature. This month we were doing Indigo dye with some tote bags @clevemetroparks provided for us! It’s been so great working with both MOCA and the Metroparks on this monthly series. We are excited for next month’s theme, which is water! Come check us out the first Saturday of every month from 12 to 2:30!

Everyone got so creative with their tote bags @gocmnh on Saturday! We were so happy to be a part of this great event promoting the Smead Discovery Center! You can find it in the basement and it’s a great place for kids to explore and learn! We were set up right across the way with all of our art supplies and all of the tote bags we were able to give away throughout the day. The design incorporates an image from the mentor marsh and we had lots of stamps with fish, flowers and bugs to add to the ecosystem. These are just a few of the amazing designs we had throughout the day!

So Adobe and I have Beef. I got it figured out, but it took a while. This video was supposed to drop on Thursday but like me and Grace were talking about here. That’s a self imposed deadline. I know the YouTube algorithm rewards consistency, but sometimes it’s just not in the cards. And you have to be OK with that. It’s not the end of the world. The full episode is out now on YouTube. Check it out! Also, this is the last episode of the season! We’re going on a little spring break so look up for summer vibes in our next season.

We are so excited to have Maggie joining us at @mocacleveland on Saturday April 4th. She will be demonstrating how to dye fabric with natural indigo pigment. It’s such a fun process and great for kids to learn about how fabrics are dyed. We will have tote bags from @clevemetroparks but guests are encouraged to bring your own natural fiber fabrics to dye (100% cotton, linen, hemp) 🪻🪻🪻 April is Earth Month and we want to give some old fabrics new life. If you have a white shirt with a stain, or an old tote bag you want to revitalize, indigo dye is the perfect solution! We will be on the 3rd floor of MOCA from 12-2:30 on April 4th! Hope to see you there!

@gracefaceart and I are weaving this week! She runs @humanheartstudios which offers classes and hosts cool art events! We have been working together doing beach clean ups for 3 years now! Grace and I have lots of ideas of ways to bring art to our community but a lot of it requires funding because artist need to get paid. It would be great if we could have some sort of cryptocurrency that would fund all of our ideas! But for now we are stuck with applying for grants. Our full conversation will be up on Thursday

Full episode with @selflovesunda out now! Putting yourself out there as an artist is always an interesting thing. I think eventually you get used to letting go of that feeling of being worried about what people are gonna think and just have confidence in your style and the way that you expressed yourself. I think the way you can keep getting better is just by practicing putting stuff out! So if you have an idea or a print, drawing, song, or anything that you want to share, just do it! The world will be a better place with more art in it!
