A message from the founder – It was very surreal seeing and hearing my story on @wkyc3 today. An idea to sell t-shirts to pay for college grew into an organization and brand. I am so thankful for this opportunity to spread awareness and to inspire others to love themselves. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by people who believe in and support Self Love Club! My heart is full of gratitude. Thank you @chriswebbspeaks for featuring SLC. The stories you tell behind the lens are nothing short of heartening. And special shout-out to all of you! 🫶🏽 XO, Miss Sunda 💕 * This segment was filmed at @plumhillcreativestudio #selfloveclub #ilthy #ohio #cleveland #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #selflove #loveyourselffirst #selfloveclubhotline

When I started Self Love Club five years ago, it began as a deeply personal journey. I had no idea that a personal need for healing would grow into a beautiful collective of people all searching for the exact same thing: a safe space to land, to connect, and to grow. Through this journey, I’ve come to realize that community isn’t just a luxury—it’s a fundamental right. It is a core pillar of our overall wellness. In a world where genuine connection and true belonging feel increasingly scarce, finding your people is essential for the soul. 🫶🏽 Whether you are a community organizer trying to build a safe space for others, or someone actively out there looking for a community to belong to, these are a few of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the last five years about what it actually takes to create, find, protect, and nurture your village. Swipe through to read a few honest thoughts from my notes app. 🗒️ with love, Sunda. 💕

This Earth Day looks a little different for us. For the past few years, we’ve gathered in celebration—of community, of care, of the Earth. This year, we’re not hosting our annual Earth Day event. What started as a simple way to bring people together has grown into something much deeper. And as Sunday School has grown, so have we. This year is a pivot—a moment to reflect, to listen, and to thoughtfully shape what’s next. We’re taking the time to nurture this energy in a way that feels true, intentional, and lasting. More than anything, we’re filled with gratitude. To everyone who has shown up, supported, shared space, and believed in what we’re building—thank you for being part of this journey with us. In the meantime, we hope you celebrate Earth Day in your own way. Take a walk, reconnect with nature, recycle, lend a hand—small acts matter. With love and appreciation, Gianni, Sunda, and Tim 🌱🫶🏽🌎

We don’t say “I love you”… we give you food. Meet the people behind West Side Block Party. Sunda, Daruny (Dee) and Adam are deeply passionate, proactive and building something bigger than themselves in Cleveland. West Side Block Party is creating space for the Southeast Asian community to feel seen, connected and celebrated while opening the doors for the rest of Cleveland to experience cultures outside of their own. Because the truth is…we need more of THIS. More spaces that break down barriers between communities. More opportunities to actually SEE each other, understand each other and do life together. If we want to keep Cleveland as special as it is, we have to know our city. KNOW our neighbors. AND show up. They’re hosting a Thai, Lao & Cambodian New Year celebration THIS SATURDAY to raise funds for this summer’s Southeast Asian Festival 👇🏽 📍 Old 86 — Detroit Shoreway 🗓 Saturday, April 25 ⏰ 6PM Pull up. Come eat, dance and experience it for yourself. Send this to someone you’re going with. PHOTO CREDIT: @churkh #asianculture #thingstodo #cleveland #culture #newyears

April 17, 1975 the day Phnom Penh fell, the beginning of the Khmer Rouge regime, and the start of a genocide that would take nearly 2 million lives. It’s been over 50 years and my parents still don’t talk about it much. Just pieces here and there. They came to America in the late 70s, sponsored by a Christian church, starting over in a place completely unfamiliar. Growing up in Cleveland, that’s all I really knew. It wasn’t until I got older that I understood what they survived. Families were forced out of their homes. Religion, language, education, our culture was stripped away. People were separated, displaced, and lost. An entire history nearly erased. And somehow, my parents made it through that. Being first generation Cambodian-American means carrying a history that lives quietly, generational trauma was passed down…even if it was never said. In everything they had to leave behind and because of that, celebrating our culture has become so important to me. To learn what was almost lost. To hold onto what they couldn’t. To make sure it continues. This is a trailer for a docuseries we’ve been working on, sharing stories like mine, like theirs, like so many others that often go unheard, especially here in Cleveland. I’m so grateful for @chriswebbspeaks for taking on this project and I hope to premiere it during AAPI Heritage Month in May. But today, we remember and we continue. 🇰🇭🪷
