Last summer in Indiana, @sankofafw told me to look over at this scene of the @wavegenerators sound tech Dan G hashing it out with the house sound tech, and said it looked like The Lighthouse. I snapped this shot.

Album of the Day 190: WAVE GENERATORS - RUN AWAY WITH A WILD AND A RARE ONE /album/run-away-with-a-wild-and-a-rare-one On the topic of albums not nearly talked about enough in an admittedly very stacked year for underground music is the powerful release from two artists that are giving a push to the boundaries of hip-hop in their own style and substance. The duo, consisting of Nosaj from the 90's group New Kingdom and Height Keech, produce and perform the tracks with a realized sound and aesthetic that really lives up the name of Wave Generators. Utilizing many vintage electric guitar sounds of the 60's and 70's, there's as much of a rock feel to the beats as much as traditional hip-hop, bridging the gap between two cultures that had the same origin. Through unorthodox flows, layered lyrics, and hooks for days the duo's sophomore record is the soundtrack to freedom fighting and an old school bank heist in one. Creative blend of classic sounds and new takes, abstract and realism. #wavegenerators #runawaywithawildandarareone #fyp #onealbumaday

Today is a very special day to me. We just released on tape the very first album of @wavegenerators If you don't know who they are, they're composed of @height_keech & @jasonfurlow23 (Nosaj) from New Kingdom. New kingdom has always had a special place in my life. One of the bands who really put me into experimental rap and blew my mind at the time (really, check the Paradise Don't Come Cheap album, it's something different). Anyway, this post is about WAVE GENERATORS, and they fucking ROCK ! This is a tape edition of their 2024 debut album with an album side and an instrumentals side. Plus a bonus remix of he Season by dj Hadit @hadit1979 We made a super special 15 tapes edition, so we keep it rare and diy. Sorry for US residents, postage price exploded, you can still order, but get ready for the crazy prices (order several albums and the price of the postage is about the same). #experimentalrap #newkingdom #rockrap

Last winter, the boys from Ronald Raygun (@toadstoolraps + @danfrombothbands ) had @_nahreally_ , @ialive + @wavegenerators over to eat a hearty stew before our Providence show. We cooked up this heater as the stew was bubbling up in the dutch oven. Thanks to @el.gran.e.records for including this jam on their brand new Liberation mega-compilation. The following are the organizations El Gran E will donate ALL proceeds to: Gaza Birds Singing - Musical support group born during displacement in Gaza /gazabirdssinging?igsh=NnlnZmV1dW56aTNq HEAL Palestine - “non-political nonprofit organization founded in January 2024, in response to the unimaginable devastation in Gaza, where thousands of lives were lost in a short period, impacting generations for decades to come.” NOOR Orphan Care - headed by Plestia Alaqad (award winning Gazan author/journalist) /f/help-plestia-rebuild-lives-today

HNY‼️Check out @rollogradymusic ’s ‘Music Supervisors Best Albums of 2025’ feature for my year-end fave music. Too many rad records to mention, so I also compiled a comprehensive playlist that spans hip-hop, electronic, pop, avant-jazz, punk, R&B, alt-country, experimental, indie, latin, black metal and… Geese, of course ;) Link ⬆️. + 10 Honorable Mentions If there's one thing from 2025 to take into next year (with plenty to want to forget) it's to trust your gut and proceed forward with positive intention at all costs. Doesn't matter if it feels like the world as we know it is all darkness with little to enjoy, as long as we maintain a positive outlook and do our part in taking care of ourselves (and then others around us) then we will see the rewards of our efforts when they're needed most. Although in current times of hyper [+ artificial] intelligence we want to feel like we know everything, we must remember if that were true then we wouldn't be humans having to ever solve problems, life would be forever perfect and stress free. Don't fool yourself into thinking you have to do things alone, listen to those who show care and offer advice and genuinely respond to you when you ask them questions, then put all that knowledge into action; learning from either the possible failure or temporary success that'll lead to the next action, and so on. How does that tie with my top 50 albums list? I don't know lol. But a lot of what informs my beliefs and opinions comes from listening to those who have something important to say and try to do so in the best way they can. In this case those would be the artists behind these albums I've listed. I always feel like I dedicate too much of my free time to music vs other mediums (podcasts, films, books, talking to other people) but there's no shame in having a favorite method as long as it's not the sole method. I hope (and need) to get back into other mediums over time but I won't forget to show love to my #1 and to as many others as I can. Cheers to getting me through the year and for keeping me inspired to always do and seek better 🙏🏽.

We want to express our gratitude and appreciation to everyone who was part of The Plug events this past year. Thank you to our sponsors, booking agents, and venues. Thank you to the graphic designers, videographers, and photographers who gave their time and talents. Thank you to everyone who shared photos and videos. A huge thank you to the Plug Crew, past and present, for all your contributions. Thank you to every artist for the incredible performances. Lastly, thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and showed up — without you, none of this is possible. The first Plug show took place on November 10th, 2024. Little did we know how important that date would become. In the week leading up to the show, there was a lot of uncertainty in the air, a sense of unease, stress, and emotional weight many people were carrying due to the broader moment we were all living through. The event, Ceschi and Factor’s final West Coast tour — could not have come at a better time. People were able to get out of their heads, put their phones away, leave their worries at the door, and simply exist in the moment. The performances were incredible. The appreciation we witnessed made it clear that what we were building was something special. Since then, we’ve had over 70 artists and bands perform on our stages, including local artists, legendary names, and artists on the brink of something big. We’ve showcased music across many styles and genres, three sold-out shows, and countless memories along the way. We are independently owned, and with that comes real financial risk. Every show is a gamble. For us, success often means simply breaking even. Many times, that didn’t happen. The payoff was never meant to be monetary, though. The real impact has been giving artists a stage, making shows accessible to all ages, and building moments rooted in community. Every show wasn’t just a show. It was an event. The love and support we’ve received is something we’re forever grateful for. We’re already building what’s next. New shows, new collaborations, coming very soon. This is just the beginning... See you in Spring 2026. Happy New Year 🖤 Blessings and love, The Plug

I put out an album in January then rapped all over the place with my friends and booked people for a bunch of really great shows. Much more of that kind of stuff to come in 2026.
