Come and hang in our space and share something youâve made (5-10 minutes or under) with the community! Narrative or abstract, analog or digital, finished or work-in-progress, we love to see it all.
This event runs from 7pm to 10pm
If youâre just coming to check out what others are creating, this recurring event is also a great opportunity to hang out and meet-up with some video art enthusiasts, as well as discuss future Wavefield events, propose workshops, and get involved with the space!

We will also have food and beverages on offer for attendees, inspired by shirleigh moog and Fluxus dinner commune meetings which were part event planning and part dinner party. Any questions about proposals, volunteering, and the internal meeting can be sent to [email protected] or through our contact form on the website www.wavefield.media/contact
Join us for a tour of Various/Artists led by Scott Kiernan.
Scott Kiernan is an artist living and working in New York City. In his video, photo and installation works, electronically synthesized and photographic elements interact to address their own materiality and means of distribution. He is particularly interested in how meaning shifts through stages of translation via technology, speech and syntax.
He was founder and co-director of Louis V E.S.P., an artist-run gallery and performance space in Brooklyn, NY (2010- 2012) and now of E.S.P. TV (2011-present), a nomadic TV studio that explores the televisual as a medium for broadcast collaborations. This project also formed UNIT 11, a transmission-based residency program operating from a former ENG van turned mobile electronic studio. Kiernan also founded and co-directs Various/Artists, a gallery in New York City and imprint producing audio/visual releases by artists working across diverse media.
Since 2024, Various/Artists has operated a storefront project space at 19 Essex St. in New York City featuring monthly exhibitions and programs by comrades and collaborators.
Interactive Flow: Using Sensor Data to Manipulate Audio and Video w @jenkutler
This workshop outlines tools and strategies for creating sound and manipulating video from any kind of data. The course will touch on a wide range of topics including methods of interaction, using data in installations, performances and interactive works. Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas to walk through the technical challenges that they face and to find solutions together. We will cover linking software together, common communication protocols and an introduction to Pure Data (freely available to download for every operating system). We will work with data from sensors in real time including electroencephylograph (EEG), heart rate, breath rate, electrodermal activity (EDA), physical distance as well as pre-existing data sets. Folks interested in the course should bring their laptop with any software that they would like to control (e.g. Ableton Live, VDMX, Resolume, Signal Culture Apps, etc) and a pair of headphones. The workshop will run approximately 3 hours.

Come learn the foundations of Electronic music production and performance with Chris Clark. Chris Clark aka Lazy love is a London-raised, Chicago-based music producer, DJ, electronic artist, and composer, whose sound sits between minimal/deep techno, and deep house. He has collaborated with electronic, indie, and alt-pop artists, handling everything from arrangement and live instrumentation to drum programming, synthesis, sound design, and mixing. The workshop will cover a bit of the history of electronic music as well as provide participants with an opportunity to get hands on with sequencers, synths, drum machines, effects, and mixing utilizing wavefields array of audio instruments (if you know, you know...). While this event will have an emphasis on analog first principles and xox style sequencing, no prior experience or music knowledge is required (though it certainly wouldn't hurt!). Limited capacity event.

UPDATE: SOLD OUT
In this workshop, I will set aside the inherent complexity of TouchDesigner in favor of the exploratory and improvisational spirit of early video art. Using LZX Industriesâ modules as a conceptual blueprint, we will build a network that mimics the behavior of classic analog video synthesizers. Along the way, weâll explore ramps, oscillators, keying, compositing, feedback loops, and other foundational video-synthesis techniques. By the end of the workshop, youâll have a flexible image-generation system that you can continue to expand and customize after the session ends.
No prior TouchDesigner experience is required. Just bring a laptop with TouchDesigner installed (the free version is sufficient). [Link in my bio]

See You in the Field of Waves!
303 Day: A Celebration of the TB303 @ Wavefield!
In 1981, deep within the laboratory of the Roland Corporation, Japan; Tadao Kikumoto invented the TB-303. But when Kikumoto heard it was being used to create the acid sound, he ordered that all TB-303s should be recalled and DESTROYED. However, soon after - Kikumoto discovered that the last remaining TB-303 was in fact owned by Wavefield and a motley crew of musicans and he vowed to destroy both Wavefield and the TB-303, putting an end to the acid sound FOREVER!!!
Come help us resist Kikumoto's wiley attempts and celebrate the instrument that started it all, the TB303 on Tuesday March 3rd! Join us for a night of live hardware acid sets and live visuals, featuring immamuscia, Swami Sound, Tim O'keefe, and Vinton Surf.
This event will run from 7 to late (11ish)
Happy 303 Day!
