From deep dives into custom sound systems and live audio to conversations about touring, DJ culture, and independent music careers, the event turned Tech25 into a hands-on learning experience for Pittsburgh’s creative community.

We’re very excited to announce our first Sound System Series event of the year! For each event we will be pairing a custom sound system with an artist for a day full of free educational workshops followed by a performance.
Straight from the UK we have DEBONAIR!
DEBONAIR is a sonic sorceress that has been blessing dancefloors and airwaves across the globe with her eclectic outsider selections for over 15 years. If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out her residency at NTS Radio with shows going back all the way to 2012. She will be giving a workshop talking about what goes into her career as an independent international touring DJ and NTS resident.
On sound reinforcement duties we have Pittsburgh’s own Wave Motion Sound with their custom Paraflex sound system! Wave Motion Sound has been a huge part of Pittsburgh’s music scene, doing sound for parties such as Slappers N Bangers, Highline Remixed, Rainbow Raccoon Renegade, and many more. Chances are you’ve heard their system before, but if you haven’t you are in for a serious treat! The Wave Motion crew will be giving a workshop doing a deep dive into their sound system and the equipment and techniques that go into it.

Ever seen DJs play inside of a 5,000 pound Steel Raccoon standing 12.5ft high? From the imagination and drawings of local Millvale students, this critter was constructed right here in Pittsburgh. 🦝
Bring your family and friends to Rainbow Raccoon Park🌈 in Millvale on October 18th for the sculpture debut from 3-11 pm, FREE and open to all ages of the community. We have something for EVERYONE. Music provided by an awesome lineup of local DJs + national headliners. Core Collective Entertainers @core.collective.ent will also be debuting here with a family friendly hula hoop station, Mad Tea Party Elixir Café, and special performances 🔥
