Nessa sexta, dia 17, às 19h, haverá a abertura da terceira edição da vitrine Surplus, no subsolo da Galeria Metrópole.
Wasted Rita apresenta a instalação inédita Real Estate Real State.

INTRODUCING “The Studio” 🖌️
A five-week programme at @underdogs_gallery , bringing together @pedritastudio , @tamara_aalves , @nunoviegas.pt , @maismenos and @wastedrita .
Each week, one artist takes over the gallery, transforming it into a working studio open to the public, where you can closely follow the creative process and meet the artists.
Unique artworks will be developed on site. The process will remain visible, in progress, and subject to change.
Alongside these residencies, five mystery editions will be released on 8 April. Their compositions will remain undisclosed at launch, and will be revealed at the opening of the final exhibition.
Developed in parallel to the residencies, these editions are intervened upon by the artists throughout their time in the space, in direct dialogue with the works produced on site.
👉 Exhibition presenting the final results OPENING 15 May, 2026.

This year I had the honor to create a piece for the emblematic Fundação de Serralves Park (Porto, PT) as part of BOIL festival, curated by Patricia Craveiro Lopes, who challenged me to think about climatic change and future.
The piece is still on view at the Serralves Park until further notice.
“For BOIL, the Portuguese artist, who calls herself a “born agent provocateur,” created a suspended piece, specially commissioned for the Casa do Cinema Manoel de Oliveira. It’s a six-meter-wide billboard with a phrase cut into mirrored dibon, where matter renews itself, turning into language.
HOW MANY UNCERTAIN OUTCOMES CAN THE SKY HOLD? is a question thrown with provocation. Seeing our image reflected in the mirror, we’re urged to pause and face our own existence: an existence suspended, just like the installation, between the ground slipping from under our feet and the sky about to vent above our heads. At the same time, the uncertainty in the question holds a possibility of overcoming that pushes us to react. It’s in this semiotic duality that the work grows, cutting across the intimate, the collective, and the mystical.
The piece, then, suggests a pause-in-action. It suspends the flow of time, giving us a place where we’re allowed to speculate, intuit, and doubt. It summons the real, in equal parts discomfort and enchantment, to guide us through other alternative realities.” Patricia Craveiro Lopes
