OPENING SATURDAY, 5/16, 5-8PM! Wasserman Projects is proud to present "Half Winged", an immersive musical and visual installation built around a single, devastating question, "Are we truly free?" Created by longtime collaborators, composer Shara Nova and visual artist Matthew Ritchie, "Half Winged" is a choral cantata — part song cycle, part ritual, part elegy — that maps humanity's oldest pattern: the drive to build something new, something bigger, something more beautiful, only to question it, destroy it and begin again. This project was generously supported by the Knight Foundation @knightfdn . See you this Saturday!

OPENING THIS SATURDAY, 5/16, from 5-8PM! In partnership with SNAG, we are excited to present "Steel Work of Mild Hands" in Wasserman Works, bringing together recent works by Alberte Tranberg and Adam Shirley, two artists whose practices engage deeply with metal as a site of labor, time, and material decision-making.

At the @nceca 60th annual conference yesterday, 300+/- people attended the “Living and Sustaining a Creative Life” discussion featuring @rahafilsoofi @fainaland @graemwhyte and #AlisonWong @wassermanprojects . The conversation was frank, as these exceptional, generous artists shared pragmatic, solid, substantive realities and examples toward sustaining their creative lives. People took to the mic and shared their needs which resulted in two small and mighty groups of artists who didn’t know each other before sharing resources and experiences. NCECA recorded this as a podcast. For more information about how to hear the recording, please DM @nceca . Missed this but live in Detroit and the vicinity? You’ve got a second chance to join the conversation: Monday, 3/30pm at 6pm @wassermanprojects co-sponsored by Andrew Camden, @kresgeartsdetroit @cranbrook_art and #wassermanprojects we continue important exchanges hearing artists’ needs and retirement, healthcare, staples of security as we age. Our panel includes #AlisonWong #AndrewCamden @fainaland @graemwhyte and @ritadickersonartist . JOIN US. A special note of gratitude: None of this would have occurred without the great work of #AlisonWong. A fearless, determined arts leader, she made the connections and persevered for this to happen. THANK YOU ALISON! Also: big thanks to @brandondlittle Valerie Jenkins @katie.shulman @katie_grace_mcgowan Jeni De La O @lucyccahill @meshbomb1 @cranbrook_art @ccs_detroit @kresgeartsdetroit @allysonhoffelmeyer @joshpgreen @poppspacking and more.
