Most people have Milan low on their Italy list. Don’t be most people. Skip the line at Duomo, and see the Last Supper up close. Stop for coffee and a pastry at one of the most gorgeous cafes in the world @marchesi1824 . Get lost in Brera, and sip some Spritz along the Navigli canals. Check out what’s going on at @fondazioneprada and grab a bowl of risotto @risoelatte . Comment LAST SUPPER for all the info on our skip the line tour. The Beefeaters might be one of Britain’s most recognizable symbols, but their name has a surprisingly strange history. Officially known as the Yeoman Warders, these iconic guards have been protecting the Tower of London since Tudor times. And while nobody knows exactly where the nickname “Beefeater” comes from, one popular theory points to their diet. Centuries ago, beef was veeeery expensive. So the fact that the King’s guards were given generous beef rations was seen as a sign of status and privilege. In other words: if you were eating beef regularly, you were doing pretty well. A few things to know about the Beefeaters: ▪️They’re not just ceremonial guards. The Yeoman Warders still live and work at the Tower today. ▪️ Every Beefeater must have served at least 22 years in the British Armed Forces. ▪️ They also act as storytellers and guides, sharing some of the Tower’s darkest history with visitors every day. Comment “LONDON” for our London travel checklist, and see all our tours at [why are beefeaters called beefeaters, tower of london history, yeoman warders london]

If you google “what to do in Barcelona” you’ll be overwhelmed with options. If you’ve never been, here’s a great place to start. 1. A food tour will help you get oriented to what locals actually eat in Catalunya and help you avoid tourist traps during your trip (and there are plenty, so this knowledge in your back pocket will be so useful). 2. A complete Gaudí tour. Of course you have to see his works when you’re here because Barcelona = Gaudí and Gaudí = Barcelona. On this comprehensive tour you get to see most of the big ones and skip the lines. [PS: For our all-in-one Barcelona guide (perfect for first timers), comment BARCELONA] 3. If you have more than a couple of days, a day trip to Montserrat is the perfect way to see more of the region and learn about one of its most important and iconic exports: cava. Enjoy a tour of Montserrat and the winery plus a farm to table lunch. See our tours at takewalks.com

Italy’s drink menu goes way beyond wine and Aperol Spritz. Craft beer is booming all over the country. There are way more kinds of spritz than you think, and also so many cocktails and digestivos you just have to try. So yes, drink the wine, but don’t stop there. And get as adventurous with what you eat as what you drink. Work your way through our regional eating bucket list, city by city. Comment EAT ITALY and we’ll send it over.🍴🍷 PS: Come eat and drink your way through Rome, Florence, Venice, and beyond with us. All tours are available on our website. DM us for recommendations or questions. 🫶🏻

The Sistine Chapel ceiling has over 300 figures, and most visitors see them through a forest of raised phones and tour group flags. On our early morning Vatican tour, you bypass massive lines before the crowds fill the rooms. Your guide is an art historian who knows the collection well enough to point out details you’d walk right past. After the Sistine Chapel, you’ll take the pope’s private passage directly into St. Peter’s Basilica, skipping the entrance line entirely. If you’re looking for how to skip lines in Vatican City, this is the morning tour to do it. Comment “Vatican” and we’ll send you the link for all the details. Gaudí didn’t use straight lines. Nature doesn’t, and neither do any of his buildings. Casa Batlló’s facade shifts from bone-white to deep blue depending on the hour. The roof tiles were designed to suggest the scales of a dragon. Run your hand along the interior staircase and you’ll understand why it took 40 craftsmen three years to finish it. From there, get to know Park Güell, the hilltop park Gaudí designed as a garden city that never quite got built, now one of the strangest and most quietly beautiful places in Europe, and then Sagrada Família, the cathedral he started in 1883 and that won’t be finished until later this year (finally!). Join us for a Private guided tour of Casa Batlló, Park Güell, and Sagrada Família. Skip-the-line entry, private transfer between sites, and a guide whose only focus is your group. You can’t fully understand Barcelona without knowing something about Antoni Gaudi, and booking this Gaudi tour with @walkstours is the perfect way to learn. It combines history, storytelling, incredible architecture and the efficiency to be able to visit 3 Gaudi sites in one day and I just don’t think you can easily replicate that on your own! Plus, seeing the Sagrada Familia is a huge bucket list item and having someone to guide you through the entry and explain what you’re seeing is invaluable. This tour is linked in my bio—check it out there and don’t hesitate to book it for your Barcelona trip! ad #barcelona #visitbarcelona #sagradafamilia #gaudi #gauditour Gaudi tour, how to see Sagrada familia, what to do in Barcelona, tours in Barcelona

We always say the first few hours in Florence are the best ones. Comment “MORNING FLORENCE” to see our new video: A Morning in Florence: How to Explore the City Before It Gets Busy 🫶🏻 Start at Café Gilli, where cappuccino and cornetto have been served on the same corner of Piazza della Repubblica since 1733, then make your way to Orsanmichele, a church that was once a grain market with guild statues still standing in the niches outside where they’ve always been. From there it’s Piazza della Signoria, where David’s replica stands in the exact spot Michelangelo originally intended, and streets that hide Roman amphitheatre remains most people walk right past without ever knowing. End the morning at Santa Croce, where Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli are all buried under the same roof. See our new video “A Morning in Florence: How to Explore the City Before It Gets Busy” on our YouTube channel now @ walksdevour (or comment “MORNING FLORENCE” and we’ll send it to you!) Comment “Madrid tapas” and we’ll send you our go-to list of tapas bars in the city. Looking for the 12 things you can’t miss in Madrid? Of course, there’s the Prado, Retiro Park, the Royal Palace, and plenty of patatas bravas and jamón ibérico. But don’t miss the city’s other gems, too. Wander the cobblestoned streets of La Latina, discover street art and local life in Lavapiés, and sip vermut at a century-old bar on a lazy Sunday afternoon. And if you really want to do the Prado right, join a VIP tour before it opens to the crowds. It’s a completely different experience. The best way to get to the heart of Madrid is to eat your way through it. Join our food tour to taste the city like a locall, from neighborhood markets to old-school tabernas. And if you’re around on a Sunday, El Rastro is a must: one of Europe’s oldest flea markets, where locals have been trading for centuries. Food tours, art tours, cooking classes, all award-winning. Plaza de España is one of Seville’s most iconic landmarks, and one of the most spectacular plazas in the world. Originally built in the 1920s to host the Ibero-American Exposition World Fair, it features beautifully tiled alcoves each representing a different Spanish province. Housed within Parque María Luisa, there are hidden corners to explore well beyond the main square. If you’re headed to Seville’s join us on our exclusive Alcázar tours in the city, where you’ll get to explore one of the city’s most iconic landmarks an hour before it opens to the public.
