This sequence is from our second short, titled 'Too Much'. We have a lot of love for this film, with lines such as 'Punch him in the mouth.' and 'What have you done to Sweet Billy Ray?' its always been a favourite. It was a great feeling to make it, not having much of a clue about filmmaking beyond how to press record. Massive shoutout to Darrien for taking an accidental boot to the face for the project. 🙏

In today’s "Festival Flashbacks," we’re spotlighting the short film "Dig Boy Dig" by Andrew McCann (@w4pproductions ), an Official Selection of our XII edition.
A metal-detecting enthusiast and his digging assistant scan a beach, conflicted by the ethics of working in a location known for its tragic reputation as a suicide spot.
Our jury president, Paul Sophocli (Lionsgate), said: “…Some great dialogue and beautiful location that looked cinematic. …I really enjoyed it. Reminded me of early Ben Wheatley.”
"Dig Boy Dig" was screened at the 2022 London Rolling Film Festival, with the valuable presence of Andrew McCann (@amcw4p ) and actor Liam Jeffery (@liamjeffz ).

The pre-production for our next short (currently titled 'Fools Gold') is coming along nicely. Here's a shot from the script read through, was great to see what everyone is bringing to their character and its an absolutely solid cast. Also some camera, light and set tests without giving anything away. Great to see this project coming to life!

Dig Boy Dig finished its festival run with a bang! Massively proud to win the Best Comedy award at @hastingsrocksfilms , getting a chance to slap five with British comedy royalty @iamnotjobrand .
Can’t thank the rocks team enough for the encouragement and support given to our film. It was a brilliant weekend of sun, a number of beers and a line up that definitely defied the norm, with the fantastic ’Pig Man’ directed by Joe Starrs and DOP’d by @singledadonline being a particular standout and massively recommend checking it out.
@theprintworkshastings was a great venue, hidden in what was probably the most cinematic alley way I've seen, would love to film something there.
Also took a load of pictures, saw a seagull nipping another seagulls wing and Andy got sunburnt, was a big weekend for sure.
Dig Boy Dig will be dropping this Saturday so keep an eye out!
