In NYC getting my ass chopped up and handed to me by Holman Alvarez’s great music.
Tomorrow 7pm at the National Jazz History Museum with Sean Conly on bass and Tom Rainey on drums for the release of Holman’s new album Uarli’s Bones.
Join us!
Thank you to everyone who has preordered The Giant is Awkward. It drops proper on June 5th and I am thrilled for you to listen to this music.
I hope you can join us for the release on May 28th at the Philly Ethical Society. In efforts of keeping the event financially accessible it’s a sliding scale ticket from $10-$30. It will also be all ages because I saw some life changing shit way before I was 21. I feel committed to being the change I want to see in Philadelphia. Something is happening…
Tickets can be bought at the handstamp link in the bio and you can preorder a record still at the Bark Culture bandcamp.

I will also play the new Bark Culture record in full at the end of the night. I’ll have some copies with me if you want to cop one early!
Hope to see you there.
I was recently reunited with my copy of Morena…, a publication from 1980 featuring poetry and prose in both Spanish and English by four Chicana writers.
This was left accidentally in Brazil when I moved here in 2019, but I was reunited with it via Chrisley via Boogarins.
My mom Maria Elena Garza was 20 when this was published. It’s a joy to experience her art in at such an early age!
