Took two days but I finally rewired my mixing setup.
1) It was mainly set up for stereo stems, from when I didn't have as many 500-series units. Now I can patch in analog outboard gear to pretty much anything.
2) The "mastering" (final 2 bus) EQ and compressor used to be in the side car, so especially for EQ I was in a really bad listening position for tweaks. Now they're on the main desk.
3) New second mini mixer for drum sub mixes is wired in.
4) PC and hard drives are on a separate, always on power strip so I don't have to sit around for 5-10 minutes waiting for Windows updates to complete before I can power off the rest of the gear.
Next weekend: rewire the amps.
