Only a couple of days away from our record release show with the mighty @zacharywestandthegoodgrief and @blood.root . While this is not a picture of Probability Cloud, this is a picture of 3/4 of us playing music together back in 2003. If you were to tell us back then that 23 years later we’d still be playing, writing, and recording together…I think we’d say, “yeah…obviously.” We can also safely say that playing with Scott and collaborating on our favorite material to date has been completely amazing and we can’t wait to do more of it. See you Friday at 7 at Relic Music. xoxo, PC

Happiest of birthdays to friend and musical counterpart John Beyer. Fun fact, John and Mike met way back in ‘99 when they both worked at a restaurant. Mike kept trying to get John to play music; John thought Mike didn’t know anything about music. Mike had to agree to go to a Saves the Day show (that ended up being sold out) in order to get John to hang. They went back and hung out, Mike played some songs on guitar, and an extremely long-term musical odyssey followed (and continues). John’s brilliant drumming is only exceeded by his wonderfulness as a human. All the hugs (and maybe a Twix Cake) for our boy @theslowclap today!

Our debut LP “Celebrate Without Us” is out in the world today via digital platforms. News on a vinyl release will be announced in the coming days. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing it, recording it, and mixing it. Being in a band and collectively writing music is a joy that we feel especially lucky to live in. It feels almost like a secret that most people will never get to experience; and to be 100% happy with the result is beyond rare (just ask anyone that has ever written and recorded original music). We have to give special thanks to Adam at Timber Studios. He understood EXACTLY what we wanted and was an absolute king throughout all of it. We had plans to track with him, mix somewhere else, and master somewhere else after that. Well, after our first weekend of tracking, we quickly decided that he needed to steer the entire ship…and that he did. Brilliantly. He captured the best of what we had, and kept us laughing and fed throughout the whole process. We couldn’t be happier and we can’t recommend him enough. We have to thank our families. Starting a brand new original band past your 30’s carries a lot more challenges than expected. Families, jobs, schedules, moving, emergencies, businesses, etc. are all there as things that may not have loomed as large earlier on in life. And for them to support, understand, and encourage is not lost on any of us. What started as Mike and Scott getting together a few times to nerd out on guitar sounds quickly (and slowly) turned into what you are hearing. Huge thank you to Eric Nyffeler for somehow capturing the essence of what this record is about and translating it into one of our all-time favorite artistic designs and presentations for any album ever made. We gave him the tracks, the album title, and told him to cook. And cook he did. Brilliantly. (Continued in Comments)

Curating a zone as part of the inaugural @illuminatekensington community driven projection fest. Honored to help produce what’s shaping up to be a truly beautiful collective effort, put on by an exciting group of Philly based media artists. . Some of our other friends @richiebrowntown @glitchglasses @_ng_v @capeyjones @sligocreatures also showing work independently for this! Come check it all out. . . #projectionmapping #newmedia #liquidlightshow #videosynth #videoart

So…. We’d hope to do a triumphant release post today, but we got this email late at night… And why? Because this service now uses AI to sweep the albums and in true AI fashion…it’s fucking stupid. Like…REALLY stupid. It’s apparently a huge problem right now that a lot of bands are experiencing. So now we have to wait for an actual human to listen to this song and put it thru. How long will it take? Unclear. But as soon as we have clearance, we will let you all know. By the way, the first person who guesses what “artist” they told us we stole from will get a free Vinyl copy of the record when it comes out. Hint: It’s hilarious, and makes no sense. Update coming soon. Xoxo, -PC

Last practice before our show at Wild Air Sunday. We can’t wait to play some songs from our record (that comes out Tuesday) as well as this one (which is NOT on said record). For those concerned, the parade should be long over and the route is all the way down by Ocean Ave. For those who are fans of the parade, we hope you enjoy and that we will see you after. See you Sunday.

Single Number 2 from our first record “Celebrate Without Us” is out in the world today on all streaming platforms and bandcamp. “You’ll Be An Old Man for the Rest of Your Life” was named by the legend himself, Holden Rieger and had some of our favorite moments of the entire record. Next Tuesday 3/10, the record in its entirety is out on all digital platforms and we will have an announcement on a release show and vinyl shortly after. Some pics from the studio with @adam_cichocki who steered the ship brilliantly while keeping us fed. He also taught Mike that he didn’t like Matcha. We hope you like it. xoxo -PC

Thank you to everyone who’s listened and had nice things to say about our first single “Before I Lose My Nerve”. Here’s a little practice snippet of our next one, “You’ll Be an Old Man for the Rest of Your Life”, which comes out on all platforms on Wednesday 3/4. A reminder that we will be playing this and some others at Wild Air this Sunday. Another little reminder that our first record, “Celebrate Without Us” comes out next Tuesday 3/10 on various common streaming platforms with vinyl shortly behind. And…we will have a record release show announcement soon. xoxo -PC

Today is a big day for us…. When Scott and I talked about finally playing music together, it was something that really got me hyped in theory, but given our lives, schedules, etc…I wasn’t sure how much of it would actually get off the ground. Then we hung out with some guitars, traded ideas, riffs, progressions, etc. as you do…and we seemingly had something going. Enter Dominic (Dov) and he took it to the next level (as he seems to do with everything he puts his hands on). We had a couple solid ideas going and wanted to bring John in (given the history of 3/4 of us playing music together), but weren’t sure he’d be able to given his schedule with Hundreds. Long story short, a year plus and a few shows later…and here we are. Writing these songs and playing with these dudes has been one of my proudest moments and most favorite experiences of my entire life. I think that attention to detail and love comes thru. And of course, there are plenty of fun guitar sounds. “Before I Lose My Nerve” is one of 8 songs off of our first record together titled “Celebrate Without Us”. We didn’t really pick this one to be the first release for any special reason; but it does have most of the elements that make up who we are as a band (and it is on the shorter side compared to the other tracks). Huge thanks to Adam Cichocki at Timber Studios for manning the controls and sonic support throughout the process, and a huge thank you to Eric Nyffeler for his beautiful design and artistic vision for the album art. The record in its entirety will be released digitally on March 10th, with a limited vinyl release coming shortly after. Before I Lose My Nerve is available today on the various streaming platforms, with Apple Music lagging a bit behind at the time of this post. The world has always been a weird place, but it seems to extra weird lately. The only thing that always seems to keep me whole and make me feel better is making music with my friends. We hope each and every one of you has something similar to lean on. We hope you like it. xoxo Mike
