Various locations in Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, & Tianjin, China from 2024 & 2025. Some of the first photos I ever consciously tried to get with my camera before I really had any inkling of what I was doing (I still don’t, but I didn’t then too). These were taken during two separate @athleticsmusic tours a year apart. Experiencing these cities with my best friends, my wife, & the incredible human beings at @newnoise_china , have truly changed me & the way I view the world forever. I’m so grateful for the memories.
Also the joy of John Cannon enjoying coffee on the other side of the world may still be my favorite portrait I’ve taken to date…next to the sleepy street puppy of course.
I have astonishingly talented friends and I’m beyond grateful to get to watch them grow in their creativity. Congratulations to @inthewashartworks on her wildly successful FIRST EVER art show last night at @nailsbyginny . Almost every single piece went last night! Beyond proud of you. Can’t wait for the next one🎨🖌️
A trip to @relicmusicshop with incredible friend & photographer @adambarabas . Adam’s been my go to photographer for most business & musical projects since we met back in 2017. His work is a huge part of the reason I’ve felt inspired to start this photography hobby myself (the other has been getting to watch @brittszpakowski take her own journey).
It was a great “Saturday Service” as we like to call it at Relic. Adam took these amazing candid photos a couple months back and I’m stoked to have & share them.
1-3) my @music_man Stingray RS in ghostwood w/ their new @righteoussoundpickups gazing pick up set.
4) while we were there I traded another bass for this incredible Stingray 4H in oxblood.
5) I am thrilled Adam got a picture of this @biltguitars Relevator w/ Gazing pick ups, because I know it’s going home with someone soon and I’m deeply bummed I won’t be able to play it again.
Did a quick shoot with my two favorite beings on earth to commemorate the quick Midwest roadtrip we took together this week. Shot using the natural light in the room & a @retropiacam filter in our Airbnb in Akron, Ohio before heading home. #fujixseries #23mmf2 #retropia #fujixpro3
BIlt ESG - built October 2025 // olive drab lo-gloss nitro finish | double bound alder body | roasted birdseye maple neck w/ a bound rosewood board | 9.5 radius | 25.5 scale | Novak wide range humbuckers w/ a Novak marauder pick up in the center position, all on a 5 way blade switch.
Still unbelievable I finally own the olive drab guitar I’ve been dreaming of. Thank you to Relic Music for thinking this up with me and Bilt Guitars + Curtis Novak for their artistry.
Bilt Relevator | This is the first guitar I’ve ever had completely built to my own specs & preferences. Before @michael_nicosia even remotely had opened the doors to Relic Music, Bilt had already signed on. When Mike told me I immediately lost my mind. This builder I had loved, admired, and have always wanted to try was going to be sold at my friends shop!? I’d finally get to play these guitars I had built up in my head? Mike asked if I wanted to build one for the shop, no pressure. If I wanted it, it was mine, otherwise it’d go on the wall and somebody else could gladly take it.
I dove in head first and added everything I could want. All walnut, double bound, rosewood fingerboard, Lollar P90 in the neck, Lollar Imperial Humbucker in the bridge, & a Mastery set up.
I traded in so many things to help get this guitar into my hands and make owning it a reality. After almost being lost in transit (cut to Mike literally hunting it down at the FedEx facility in Dayton, NJ) it arrived and was more than I could’ve ever imagined. Beyond thankful for the work Bilt put into this thing. It’s changed the way I look at guitars as a whole. A true work horse & an amazing tool. Beyond grateful. It’ll be with me forever.

1976 Fender American Standard Telecaster | My dad’s guitar. This guitar set the standard for me as far as musical instruments went. It was the coolest thing I’d ever seen in my life and inadvertently sent me down the path of loving everything gear related. I remember always asking if I could see his guitar anytime we were together. He told me when I was old enough he’d give it to me as my first real guitar.
My dad passed away when I was 9 years old. In our short time together he instilled his love for playing & writing music. It’s a huge part of the person I’ve grown to be. I’ve spent my entire life playing, writing, singing, and just creating. It’s the link to him that’s never faded away and in a sense has kept him with me through all the ups and downs. My dad had two guitars he loved, his Taylor Grand Auditorium and his 1976 Fender Telecaster. When he passed they virtually ended up in a “family custody battle”. It’s been a gut wrenching feeling being without them knowing they meant the world to him. In 2018, I got both guitars back and have cherished them ever since. I’m beyond grateful.
Relic Music is curated & owned by one of my favorite people on earth. Mike has supported me and been a sounding board in all my personal & creative endeavors since we’ve met. So much so, he trusted me to take some photos for the shop a few months back while I was diving into my photography hobby. Here’s a handful of my favorite photos from that day. Relic truly is about all the little details. From the carefully selected builders & brands, to the handmade details, & just the overall passion for gear & tone that seeps through every fiber of this place. I hope I was able to capture even a fraction of that.

Hey my name is Zach. Big fan of all things effects pedal & gear related. I’m going to start using this account as a digital way of keeping up with my ever changing gear collection & jump into photography. I’ll be posting thoughts on new acquisitions & looking back on my old ones. This page is more for me than anyone else but if you enjoy talking gear, you’re always welcome here.
