Volucap is known for its world-leading volumetric studio in Babelsberg where numerous cameras shoot a scene in 3D from all sides simultaneously in motion. For Matrix Resurrections at year 2020, the team had to go far beyond existing technology. We designed innovative volumetric capture solutions capable of capturing cinema-quality 3D images of actors and environments in motion (volumetric video). In the summer and autumn of this year, the Film University produced 3D interviews with seven Holocaust survivors in New York City and Warsaw. We just completed the first-ever volumetric 3D recordings of Holocaust survivors in Poland, using our mobile capture stage, Volucap GO. In collaboration with @filmuni and under the direction of Christian Zipfel (@christian.zipfel ), we had the honor of filming the testimonies of Bronisława (Niusia) Horowitz-Karakulska - the last surviving “Schindler Jew” and Zdzisława Włodarczyk — two extraordinary women whose lives reflect the unimaginable horrors of the Holocaust, and the strength of the human spirit. 📍 @warsaw_film_school - thank you for hosting and supporting us! We just had the extraordinary honor of filming Holocaust survivor Niusia Horowitz in Warsaw using our mobile volumetric stage. 🎥 Her life story directly inspired many of the unforgettable scenes in Schindler’s List. Now, for the first time, we’ve recorded a full one-hour interview in volumetric 3D — preserving not just her words, but her presence. A living memory, carried into the future. This recording was created in close collaboration with Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf (@filmuni @christian.zipfel ) We are also in the process of founding a non-profit organization — Zeitzeugnis.org — to enable more recordings like this, ensuring that survivors’ voices are preserved for generations to come (link also in bio). 3D-Dreharbeiten in Warschau mit Bronisława Horowitz-Karakulska, der letzten Überlebenden der „Schindlerjuden“. Die Geschichte von Frau Horowitz ist weltberühmt, auch wenn viele Menschen ihren Namen vermutlich nicht kennen. Sie beriet Steven Spielberg bei den Dreharbeiten zu "Schindlers Liste". Zahlreiche Szenen des Films basieren auf ihrer eigenen Biografie. Ich bin sehr dankbar, dass dieser Dreh möglich war und ich Frau Horowitz interviewen durfte.
