Fight for your ideas… Like Nancy Biniadaki Nancy was born in Athens, and feels at home in Berlin too. She’s been working as a director/ writer in film and television, fiction and documentary, theatre and opera for many years, moving across different artistic forms and creating interdisciplinary projects. She’s always been fascinated by literature and storytelling. She first studied Classical Philology, but soon went on to Film. She learnt theatre by working close to renowned directors that she considers her mentors. She’s always been fascinated by the concept of the tragic hero as a dramatic means to explore human nature. She is keen on creating powerful and honest female characters, being a woman herself and experiencing the world through a female body. Working with actors is central to her work, as well as joining forces with a bunch of interesting creative people following a common vision. She is interested in a personal, emotional and political cinema, searching for alternatives to patriarchy and capitalism. She believes in drama as a shared experience, in freedom, justice, respect, and tolerance in any private, professional and artistic collaboration. © picture: Sebastian M. Capture the Moment… Like Britta Mangold Britta was born in Lübeck and spent her childhood in Ethiopia, Switzerland and Germany. Due to her many moves, it was clear to her from an early age that she wanted to experience many new worlds in her professional life and definitely belong to the artistic nomads. She began her career in set design for theater and film and worked with renowned artists such as Eduardo Paolozzi, Jerome Savary, and Percy Adlon. The decision to turn to cinematography soon arose from working with these artists and realizing that drawing and painting were not her greatest talents. So cinematography it was: the film camera offered her the opportunity to paint with light instead of oil and gouache, creating fascinating, moving and evocative images. Proud until today: She was the first woman ever to secure a year-long internship at ARRI Munich and then climb the professional ladder to become a highly sought-after cinematographer. She has worked with many renowned international cinematographers, which has shaped her work in many ways and provided immense inspiration. For many years now, she is turning her own visual ideas, concepts and dreams into images. She has worked on major international Hollywood productions, including Miniature Unit DoP for Roland Emmerich’s films “The 13th Floor”, “The Patriot” and “10,000 BC“. In addition, she has directed hundreds of commercials for numerous major brands. In recent years, she has also frequently been hired as directing cinematographer, which has opened up entirely new perspectives for collaborating with directors. When Britta isn’t filming, she teaches at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences or lovingly renovates her old farmhouse in Lower Bavaria. © picture: Dietrich Mangold #kamera #cinematographer #cinematography #cameracrew #agenturserraroll

Storytelling at its best… Carolin writes stories about people who don’t quite fit into their world – and who find their place precisely within that tension. Stories in which the strange feels familiar and the familiar turns strange. Born in 1992 in Germany’s Black Forest, raised in the Palatinate and by Lake Constance, and later shaped by time spent in international environments, she learned early on that identity is not fixed, but something that moves, reshapes itself, and is sometimes lost along the way. This experience runs through her work: characters navigating between possibilities, between closeness and freedom, between the desire to belong and the fear of settling. Carolin has a keen sense for emotional turning points and for the questions beneath the surface: What if I had chosen differently? What if there is more than just this one reality? Her stories revolve around identity, relationships, and alternative ways of living – sometimes closely grounded in our world, sometimes just a step beyond. Her work features characters such as an eternal vampire student refusing to grow up, teenagers searching for dark matter, or a time-shifter trying to prevent the end of the future. The fantastical is never an end in itself, but a lens through which her characters’ inner lives come into focus. After a long career as an international model, she returned to writing and to what has always accompanied her: a precise observation of people. As a mother of two daughters, her perspective also turns to questions of origin and the subtle forces that shape a life. Her projects move between romance, mystery, science fiction and drama, and are aimed particularly at a young audience with a sensitivity for atmosphere and emotional depth. © picture: Florian Grill #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

agenturserraroll Storytelling at its best… Like Francis Fulton Smith For Francis Fulton-Smith, screenwriting means placing words so precisely that they reach the actor before he goes looking for them. Tailored. Placed on the tongue. Performance and being align, because the sentence holds and the word carries. Precision, timing, and the echo of a line are forged in the writing. Authenticity is not just craft — it is origin. The written word is the moment when experience becomes language, and language becomes truth. © picture: Marius Engels #write #scripts #regie #director #storytelling

agenturserraroll Storytelling at its best… Write like Claudia Seibl In 1987, Claudia was sadly not born in Forks, Washington, but much like a certain vampire, she maintains a “forever seventeen” attitude. Her work is easily identified by its quirky and lovable characters as well as a healthy dose of pink. Much like Claudia herself, the stories she gravitates towards may have their heads in the clouds at times, but always feature a big heart. Claudia’s perspective is feminist, queer, and she writes first and foremost for the girlies. She works in both English and German, preferably from her bathtub. She is able to work in any genre because her focus is always on the characters. Her favorite stories to write though are romcoms and crime comedies. Hit producer Christian Becker habitually refers to Claudia as “the girl with a million ideas”. And because she never backs down from a challenge, she is currently working on a bursting-at-the-seams catalog of ideas that may at some point actually reach that elusive number. In her down time, Claudia likes to exert herself by means of physical exercise as well as devouring a frankly worrying amount of books. She also hosts Germany’s most successful (and only) WNBA fan podcast and likes to research local ghost stories from inside her pink writing studio. She spends her nights being the world’s worst sleeper. Claudia works and lives in Munich. © picture: Paul Thiem #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

agenturserraroll Storytelling at its best… Write like Marie Sand Writing is as natural to her as breathing is. As a ghostwriter she has created 70 nonfiction books, more than 100 concepts and a novel about her personal pop star in art history: Albrecht Dürer. Under the pen name Marie Sand she published a trilogy about silent heroines, through which she discovered the affinity for fiction. When asked, what distinguishes these women, the answer is, that such heroines do not seek applause, nor do they chase the sympathy of others. They act because they can’t do otherwise. It is a matter of character and of being true to oneself. Of love for people and for life. Marie Sand writes with stylistic precision and emotional depth. She doesn’t follow a strict logic but rather the art of portraying strong female characters. Her aim is to reveal the hidden cracks in the soul and to sense the obstinate spirit beneath the skin. For the skin forgets nothing; it carries the traces of memory. Marie Sand lives in Berlin. She is currently working on her first screenplay, based on the novel “Und morgen wieder schön“. © picture: Janine Guldener #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

Storytelling at its best… Write like Vanessa Jung Writing scripts is the consequence of Vanessa long life in front and behind the camera that started, no shit, as a toddler shooting a spot for Germanys first eco – diaper. She likes to go where it hurts and beyond, always truthfully since she blushes when she lies. She loves comedy, that arises in drama and drama, since it is even more painful when you try to lighten it up. A show is only as good for Vanessa when she has to laugh and cry and hopefully at the same time. And she loves to be a woman and to tell stories form their perspective. As a mom of two she can fill her stories also with that perspective. Truth hurts and therefore it ALWAYS should be told. © photo: Christof Arnold #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

Storytelling at its best… Write like Oliver Welter More than 100 episodes of sitcom (headwriting included) in way over 15 seasons, numerous episodes of serial drama, several primetime crime-movies and three published crime novels. In over 25 vears of working in the entertainment business Oliver Welter put some weight in his backpack called vita. He knows about comedy, crime AND drama and all the moments of hard writing routine, boundless euphoria, deepest despair… and the gratitude of having a job that lets you experience all this. Oliver Welter might be the last street kid among the TV-writers. No bachelor’s or master’s degree from a renowned film school, but eyes and ears for people and stories, some talent in dealing with words, a touch of naive determination and tons of true passion and dedication. And the strong believe of not having seen it all yet. „You want something? Go, get it!“ is certainly not a motto for your kid’s career day in Junior Highschool, but the essence of Oliver Welter’s personality. And the reason why he returns to his desk every morning with a smile in his face. Excited to see what kind of story life will pull out of it’s hat today. © photo: Marc Lehmann #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

Storytelling at its best… Write like Fabian Carl Fabian was born in Munich in 1995, where he still lives and works to this day. So he never really made it out of his hometown, but that is okay. He would not want to live in Berlin anyway. His career path is almost cliché: even as a child, Fabian wanted nothing more than to tell stories. He drew comics and regularly borrowed his father’s camcorder to shoot films with friends. After finishing high school, he slaved away at film sets as the lowest link in the food chain, and eventually earned a spot to study Production and Media Business at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). Lured by the promise of big money, he initially went into advertising after graduation and worked on international campaigns for clients like LinkedIn, PUMA, Porsche and many others, in various roles such as Creative Director, copywriter, director and/or producer. © photo: Sebastian Gabriel #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

Fight for your ideas… Like Nergis Usta When six-year-old Nergis was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she answered without hesitation: a war reporter! The turning point came at the age of ten, when she wrote a play for school. Her stories received faces, voices. Energy was in the air, vibrating, swirling. The spark jumped over - and from then on there was no turning back. At that moment Nergis knew with absolute certainty: she doesn't have to travel to war zones to make emotions tangible. Nergis finds her stories between the lines, in newspaper articles and her inspiration in real life. © Photo: Myrko Thum #regie #director #filmmaker #writer #storytelling #agenturserraroll

Storytelling at its best Write like Emily Schmeller Born with dual citizenship (German and Swiss), she attended three different primary schools and thanks to Irish childcare, developed a deep love of language with all its peculiarities. It's no wonder that she now acts and writes. Her motto since she was little has been: if you're going to do it, do it right. She is a drama queen and a joker, loves mystery and psychological thrillers as much as comedy. There is one thing she really doesn't like: being put in a box. © Photo: Chérie Hansson #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll

Storytelling at its best… Write like Joe von Hünerbein Two years of close combat as a music video producer are followed by almost two decades of comedy, most recently as a producer in the writers' office of a late-night show. In 2020, Joe moves to Berlin and turns to fiction. After screenwriting school, he wins his first pitch and a little later a small but fine miniseries flickers on screens across the country. © Photo: Robert Wilde #drehbuch #writers #screenwriting #scripts #agenturserraroll
