i looooved sourcing pieces old & new highlighting Athenasia’s Greek heritage & fierce persona. loved this crew so much (all such sweet angels) & my inner child was thriving pretending i was Britney in the Slave 4 U music video 🐍
last slide is mami & i in 2012 at my senior prom in that same peacock dress i put Athenasia in (it was originally mami’s & she let me borrow it that night). when i tell you this dress is like the sisterhood of the traveling pants… it fits everyone no matter your shape or size, so crazy! it’s definitely a statement piece that will stay in our family for generations to come inshallah 💞

around this time last year i was on set of our short film “Please Return Your Carts” as a Costume Designer for @colorcreative Find Your People Program. so thankful for my teammates, our cast & crew. everyone put their heart into this & you could feel the genuine love for filmmaking on set. i really Lovie’s this sh*t 🤣 im sorry i can’t resist a corny pun.
i learned so much & i’m so thankful for the opportunity to continue to grow as a Costume Designer alongside other talented creatives of color. inshallah this is only the beginning 🤲🏼

1.18 🎂♑️ so thankful for another year of life with my beautiful sisters. we put on our cutest PJs & had a cozy crafty day making paper self portraits as a reminder to love ourselves. {how cute was my lil art teacher set up?!}
then we ended the night watching a short film i Costume Designed in LA written & directed by @modupethomp 👑 staring angel @arsemathomas 💘

so thankful i was able to be on set doing what i love for most of the year pero juggling it all while trying to keep a day job & make time for family & friends truly burnt me OUT!
being the eldest immigrant daughter AND a Capricorn means hard work is ingrained within me pero the end of this year taught me that if i don’t slow down & rest, my body/mind will force me to & it will not be cute 🫠
i pray 2026 brings a better work/life balance with more quality time with loved ones because life is way too short. losing my girl @whitneyscrew truly put everything in perspective for me. life is so precious & i’m so blessed to be here. i don’t want to waste another minute of my life not doing what i love with the ppl i love.
there are two ways to have enough~ one is to continue to attain more & more, the other is to desire less. i am so blessed to have a warm bed, genuine family/friends & another day of life.
