Just finalized designs (stickers) inspired by Campesinas/women activists who have experienced assault and harassment in and out of the fields. When you realize and admit that we live in a misogynistic, patriarchal society, then the heinous behavior committed by Cesar Chavez are very believable despite his fight for “labor justice”….
What has been revealed about the often-celebrated Cesar Chavez is a reminder that we should never idolize an individual within a larger struggle, rather we need to focus on collectively strengthening the movement itself. We believe survivors of such toxic & manipulative violence.
