His artistic journey began with a passion for photography & film. Gradually, he discovered the versatile possibilities offered by digital tools like Adobe, allowing him to further develop his artistic expression. By combining different techniques and exploring new artistic horizons, Pepijn crafts a unique visual style that is both dynamic and innovative. !!!THIS SATURDAY, B-KANT FEST, saturnusstraat 91!!! Calling out artists around town! —visit our friend Mattia Papp as he opens the doors to his studio in The Hague. Hands-on, messy and physical — his practice is driven by instinct, curiosity and a fascination towards material transformation. Mattia bridges mythology, architecture, and personal memory—building layer by layer with pigment, plaster and concrete. Originally from Florence, Italy, he grew up surrounded by centuries-old churches, crumbling stone walls and Catholic iconography. This influence echoes through the weathered ruins and imaginary altars in his large-scale reliefs, sculptural paintings. From abandoned churches in Tuscany to contemporary art fairs across the Netherlands, catch him in his anchor this Saturday, May 10th. We’re very happy to announce a new event series called “Open Studios” — and even more excited that it’s in collaboration with Gijs Huizinga (@yung_pelvis ). He’ll be opening his doors to us on April 12th at De Amsterdamse Veerkade 33A, between 13:00 and 21:00, showcasing and selling all of his art. Come by for some beers, have a chat with the artist, and maybe take home a piece or two. Gijs has created some special works just for this event. Afterwards, we’ll head straight to Laak Club for some dinner and a dance. The interview will be up soon — just hang in there a little longer, please :).
